Rented car from 3/10-3/18 from Advantage for family vacation in *******. Found a great deal, so I thought. The estimated amount was $300 for an 8-day and 1 hour rental. Instead, we ended up paying $703.84. Due to additional fees for insurance, $14.99 for liability for a total of $119.92 and cleaning fee of $250. I reached out to them and insurance company in advance. I have liability coverage through my insurance, Connect by American Family. Took out travel insurance through Expedia for collision. **************** at ********************** told me I was fine. When we arrived, they told us that they could not enter two insurance companies and we would need to take their liability, that did not make any sense. But we felt pressured to take it.Told us nothing about a $250 cleaning fee, which is more than the estimated time/mileage fees, making it an extremely unreasonable fee. Upon return, they charged us the $250 cleaning fee. We cleaned all the trash out of the car and returned it as we would any other rental car. I have rented cars through several other rental car companies for personal and work and I have never been charged a fee. My family and I treated the vehicle well. Called customer service immediately. They said I would hear back from local office in ***** hrs. 3 days later I had not heard anything. Tried again, they said they are big company and do not have time to return customer calls. That was the week of March 18th. I still have not heard back from them. Shortly after the second call, reached out to my credit card company to file a dispute. They responded to my credit card company after 30 days when they found out they would not be paid. They send contract and pics of a vehicle. You cannot tell what vehicle it is. Because they responded credit card company cannot take it any further action.I would like the $369.92 of unreasonable fees noted above including tax/fees calculated for this amount. This an unfair practice and should not be legal. More attached.

On 05/15/2024, I rented a Van for my trip to ******* ******* for 06/18-06/26. The total charge was $445.19 for the time. When I arrived at Advantage to pick up my reservation, I was told that my reservation was canceled because I was late picking it up. I was late due to my flight delays. Advantage refused to honor my reservation. I , my wife and 4 children, plus all of our luggage was completely at their mercy. Sitting in their office being told the cheapest vehicle that would fit my family was $713.25, but was still smaller that what I reserved. I really had no choice. Renting a car the same day you need it is never cheap. This was a total bait and switch. They lure people in with cheap prices. Once the people are there, far from home, tired with upset children, they are told their reservation is gone. I made that reservation almost 5 weeks in advance. I want Advantage to honor the $445.19 price I was promised. Even though the vehicle I got was not as big or nice as what I reserved.

I've rented a car and have been overcharged using the "Bait and Switch" approach. I've made a reservation, and the total (including all taxes) was $80.81.I contacted the company, but they said they don't have to honor the price listed on the third-party website. However, I've been charged $286.52, including optional services and a late fee, even though I returned the car two hours earlier than the reservation allowed. The only optional services I've accepted were the gas ($50.88) and tolls ($59.95), but the cost still doesn't add up. I request the company to refund me the difference of $94.88

Rented a car from this company January 5, 2024 (MCO-128961). After returning the vehicle I have (2) unauthorized charges on my account. I have tried to work with the vendor and they refuse to assist in this matter.

I booked my reservation for a rental car at the *********, **************. I booked the reservation through *****, was quoted a price of about $78 from Thursday evening, June 13th, through Saturday evening, June 15th, at 11pm. When I went to pick up the car the couter agent insisted that we have additional insurance even though I was covered by my own auto insurance policy and my credit card. We showed the counter agent our auto insurance policy and the counter agent still insisted we pay for insurance. I had already waited an hour in line. The counter agent wouldn't tell me the total cost until it was time to sign the rental agreement. The insurance brought the total up to $124.13. She charged me for 3 days of insurance. The rental receipt indicated the car was due back by 11pm on June 15th. This was about the same price I was quoted by the major rental companies so I went ahead with the rental, even though I never opt-in for insurance. Clearly a deceptive business practice. I should have known better from the amount of people ahead of me in line who were clearly upset about the add-ons. One gentleman even walked away from the counter clearly upset, and warned us standing in line not to rent from Advantage. I returned the vehicle at about 10:30pm Saturday evening. The desk agent locked the doors as I arrived. He would not open the door and just ignored myself and another couple who arrived at the same time. The check in agent had said it was no problem to use the "night drop" if they were closed, so I used it. I dropped the car off before the 11pm deadline. The next day I received my emailed receipt for about $187.77 They charged me another $61 for an additional day, even though the car was returned as instructed. Advantage business practices are deceptive and lack transparency. I am disappointed with the non transparency and deceptive business practices of Advantage. The extra charge of $61 was not justified as I had the vehicle back before 11 pm.

The rental reservation was made for 04/12/24-04/19/24 and the confirmation number is APRL0635DA. When filling out the rental paperwork online I opted out of the collision coverage because my car insurance covers rental cars. When checking out at the store, I was asked again about the additional coverage and I said no I did not want it. Upon review of my emailed receipt, I was in fact charge for the coverage. When I spoke to customer service on the phone they told me I had to speak to the store in person. When I dropped off the rental car I spoke with a worker who said the manager was not there yet but took my number. He said I should receive a call from her and the money would be refunded. I have not been contacted by anyone and have not received a refund.

I returned the vehicle on 6/4 at 3am when the ***************** location was closed. There was a sign on the door to return the vehicle at the back. So I went to the back, ***** foot from the current door and returned the vehicle and dropped the keys in the night box as instruction. Now this scummy company charged my card with ****** extra fee for returning the vehicle at the wrong location. I called twice to get the fees waived and they laughed at me and hung up. I do not know how this company stays in business. They need to be investigated.

We were given a price via email that was due at time of the car rental pick up. Upon arrival they asked if we wanted insurance coverage and we stated that we would use our own coverage and refused the option they were giving us. When it was time to sign she told me what I was signing for, but signed the small black device for signatures and couldnt see a screen that said what I was signing for. I took her word for what I was signing. Upon returning the car and arriving home, I checked my credit card and saw that I was charged much more than was quoted and they had charged me for the insurance coverage in which I had refused. I called immediately and was told I needed to speak to the manager on site and they would call me within 3 business days. They never called but I received an email denying a refund for the insurance because once I sign, I am agreeing to their terms. This is a very deceptive practice and even after emailing back, they ignored me and still refuse to reimburse.
