In February 2023 Carrier-Home implemented a new iPhone application which has not worked properly since. The work-a-round is to make changes by using the wall-thermostat. Unfortunately, because I am disabled, and if no one is available to help, it requires me to use either a wheelchair or ****** to try and reach for the thermostat to make changes. The Carrier Corportation is not willing to stand behind their product, their distributors or their certified install companies. Spend your money elsewhere, it will only end up costing you more in the long run. I built a new home three years ago and paid a premium for what I thought was good **** system. The following are all the issues I have had with this unit.A week prior to moving in:- The drip tray sensor failed and flooded my front bathroom. Water was pouring from the ceiling. A section of the floor in the attic had to be cut out to help dry out the dry wall and insulation.- Scheduled the gas company to attach the gas line and do a pressure test. Technician showed me where the gas line was not installed in the upstairs furnace. Had he not caught this, it would have blown my house up. Had to pay for a second service call from the gas company after ******* came out to fix it. After moving in but within the first year, year and a half:- Compress was replaced, - ************ replaced - The thermostat control was replaced - We went without heat for a day or two and had to say at my parents house because it was so cold in the house.- The house has a whole house surge protector but added one on to the **** at the recommendation of ******* Third year in the house (almost to the day)- Run start capacitor replaced on compressor - Reversing valve gone bad I contacted ****************** and I was told that the part was under warranty but since the system had to be breached, none of the associated coolant that would be lost would be. I understand that labor would be my expense, but this is not a one-off problem and the added expense to replace the faulty part should not be passed on to me the customer. I had a Trane in my last house that lasted 19 years and never gave me a single problem.

      Dear *****************,

On behalf of ******, I am very sorry to learn of the problems you have experienced with your equipment.

Our records indicate you contacted our customer service department 7/27/2023 pertaining to your equipment failure. Your case ******** was sent to our district service manager to review your concerns with your dealer ******** Refrigeration & *********************** manager advised he spoke with ******** Refrigeration & *********** Manager while he was on site 7/31/2023. The service manager at ******** determined the reversing valve was leaking discharge into the suction and needed to be replaced. Our district service manager was also informed, there had been no prior maintenance since installation.

Our customer service representative requested proof of prior failures and maintenance documents on 9/5. We show no prior warranty claims on your existing equipment. At this time, we have not been provided any prior repair invoices or service documents.

The warranty ****** provided on Model: 226CNA048000GAAA Serial:  3419E12175 is a limited 10-year parts only warranty from the date the equipment was installed for the original owner. The manufacturer warranty does not include diagnostic fees, labor, refrigerant, maintenance, etc... The labor warranty was provided by the installer for a period of time as determined by them.

We understand that the costs and inconvenience associated with the repair of your equipment is almost always unexpected. We sympathize with the stress that unexpected expenses can have on any family; however, no compensation or concessions beyond the original limited parts warranty coverage will be extended to you.

Spent $8,428.89 in total on March 10, 2020, which included: 1) Air Conditioner: ****** 127ANA036000 A/C CONDENSERS (PREFERRED,17 SEER,PURON 2 STG ) 3 TON 2) Furnace: ****** 926TB30040V14 Preferred 96 Two Stage Gas Furnace 3) Coils: ****** C36A142L126 COILS (ADP EVAP COIL W/TXV )| 4) Installation which included running a new coolant line and new electrical 3) 3-year warranty on service Air Conditioner failed on Aug 18, 2023 (3 years, 5 months and 8 days from date of installation). We live in Northern California so our conditioner might run four months of the year and not a particularly heavy load when it does. So the usage is very light compared to a unit running in Arizona and Florida. Initial diagnosis is a failed condenser, which is under warranty; however, the Carrier Distributor, Fuse Service, https://www.***********.com/, quoted $2,262.50 to replace the condenser which requires replacing the freon and was expected to take 3-4 hours. The original service was quoted as $3,250.00 which required two technicians a couple of days to complete and obviously included bleeding the existing system and replacing the freon. I contacted Carrier (8/29) to discuss via their web site and received an email response from ******* ******* (9/1) that labor and refrigerant were not covered under warranty. I responded to ******* (9/1) asking to discuss the situation and please send a response if Carrier was not willing to discuss. I received no response in a week and sent a follow up message on (9/8) and still no response (9/12). I have the following issues: 1) I expect a manufacturer that cares about their brand name to stand behind their product. Carrier would be out of business if the average condenser in their units failed within the 10 year warranty, let alone in 3 & 1/2 years. 2) I expect some reasonable level of responsible communication and have not received that 3) It seems very likely Fuse is gouging me on service

****,Parroting the same response I originally received on 9/1/23 after 3+ weeks does not address the issue and I suspect you understand that. The issue is Carrier's / ******** product failed in 3.3 years and the cost to your customer is nearly the cost of a new air conditioner despite the unit being under warranty. I doubt a failure requiring this level of is typical and thus I don't believe Carrier's response should be typical either. If you wish to damage Carrier's brand then keep quoting the same information (and only when I reached out to a third party). If the failure rate your product is this poor then they should/n't be on the market. If the failure rate is truly low as I had expected when buying a recognized brand, then Carrier should find the failure a threat to their brand and address the issue accordingly. You have my contact information and I suggest you use it in a timely manner and reach out to me.Regards,******

Carrier unit installed in New Home Construction, closed 09/21/2021. 08/07/2023 the unit starts making a rumbling/vibrating sound, I shut off the unit. I immediately called Carrier, as I can’t contact the original HVAC company since they’re no longer in that line business. The representative tells me I can contact any authorized dealer to perform a warranty fix. I proceed to call my HVAC service provider I have a contract with – the Carrier rep had confirmed they are authorized. The HVAC service provider inspects the unit and notices a broken motor and module. Tries to order the part through warranty and it’s backordered with no ETA (could be a week, weeks, or months). In 95-97 degree heat, with a heat index of 115 and over 100 degree heat index at night that day and the rest of the week - I didn't have any other choice but to purchase a temp motor to get things moving along. I reach back out to Carrier as I want reimbursement at least partially for my out-of-pocket expenses for the parts. They start saying how my warranty could be voided from installing the emergency parts during a heat emergency. The Carrier rep says it was my responsibility to call them to attempt to “expediate” the backordered part and they won’t be covering anything. If there were emergency parts available, my authorized dealer should have been able to get them – preventing me from purchasing temporary parts. There should also be Carrier initiated training that required the Authorized Dealer to call them about “expediting” backordered parts. None of these things should have been my responsibility. This is not a fair representation of having a warranty. Which somehow, I only have 5 years instead of 10 since I was supposed to know to register the product after the first couple weeks of homeownership. I’ve previously heard Carrier was a reputable company. I no longer trust them at all after this recent interaction and how they kept trying to victimize me during the process. Horrible

The part in question was ordered by your Service Provider through their local supplier.  As the manufacturer, part orders are not visible to us as they are handled on a local level. If the motor was unable at the local distributor, they would in return place an order with our factory.

From my understanding the replacement motor needed for model FX4DNF037L00 is part number HD44AQ271 and our factory inventory shows this part was and is in stock at the time of your failure. If the local distributor did not have the motor on hand, they would have discussed ordering options with your dealer as there are several options available including an "Emergency Priority 5" expedite option. I am sorry if your dealer did not review these options with you.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us regarding your experience.

I purchased a Carrier Green speed only three years ago. I am already having issues with it. The unit was over $13,000. And in just three years I have already spent more than $500 on repairs. I have low confidence in the Carrier brand. There website doesn't have extensive information to diagnose the various error codes. And, in contacting Carrier, they refer customers to external servicing agents - which is costly to the customer. ********************** doesn't answer specific questions on what the error codes mean. Air one has no respect or concern for their customers. I have since then had to contact Carrier them selves. They are not returning our phone calls either. I am so concerned with the service and thought Carrier was a respected company. Please please look else where. Generations in our Deer Ridge area of Kitchener. Is amazing please chat with them.

      Dear *****************************,

On behalf of Carrier, I am very sorry to learn of the problems you have experienced with your equipment and with the installer you have selected.

Carrier Corporation is the manufacturer of heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment; we go to market through a distribution channel. The distributors, in turn, sell our products to dealers and contractors within their territories. The distributors, dealers and contractors are all independently owned and operated businesses.

I have reviewed your Carrier Case ******** and show your cases was escalated out to our Service manager for review. Our district service manager advised they spoke with your technician who advised your unit has experienced a high limit event in low heat. Our service manager advised your technician they needed to set the gas pressure to Low Heat. They have also advised the Fault Code 126 is an alert only. When the alert is active the unit will work like a single stage furnace.

Based on your BBB review your installer Aire One has not been returning your calls. If you are unable to contact them and they are unwilling to respond. I would suggest reaching out to another local Carrier dealer in your area for service, I have listed several below for your convenience.

      Infiniti Air Conditioning & Heating (*********, **) ************

      Pinewood Htg & AC (*********, **) ************

If ******** has not been back to your home since 5/9/2023 I would suggest contacting one of the above dealers to have them adjust the gas pressure setting of your equipment to advise any further alerts. IF your new service provider has any question, please ask them to reach out to the service manager at Carrier Enterprise ****** and they would be happy to walk them through the adjustments that need to be made.

We bought a new mobile home in 2020 after 2 hurricanes destroyed our home. We bought a Clayton home that had a Carrier HVAC system. Both names were highly reputable so we were happy. Recently our heating system had issues so I contacted Carrier. Surprise! Your $$$$ piece of equipment only has a 1 year warranty. What? Seriously? You, Carrier, only warrant your product for 1 year? Does that sound acceptable to you? Are you telling me that your products are no longer reliable? That's sad. Oh, I contacted Clayton Homes since on their website, https://www.claytonhomes.com/studio/carrier-furnace-in-clayton-homes/, they mention a limited 10 yr warranty with registration, which I did register the unit. Needless to say, I'm very unhappy with both companies, and will make sure in the future that neither are purchased by me and family/friends.
