      Let me start with they overcharge you where they can. The billing department is a nightmare and can't do anything right. I was overcharged and took It in my own hand to get the claim reprocessed. EOB showed what I was charged, my insurance agent confirmed what I should have been charged, I contacted my insurance directly and they thankfully re-opened the claim. I requested from the Coast Dental billing manager, **********************, to send the **rays as It was requested from the insurance before but they never sent them in. She finally did It. The claim got re-processed and a refund for "my overpayment" was sent to the Coast Dental clinic on San **** Road, ************, **. The billing manager confirmed in April 2023 that she had received It and will mail my refund. To this day I never received It. Turns out the billing manager quit. I spoke to a lady named ****** ( or similar) who refuses to give me my refund!! Her reason: They will leave It as credit on my account for next time I come in as a patient and that she can't send It via mail to me. I NEVER ever want to go to Coast Dental as a patient again. They wrongfully keep my refund, when I took It in my own hand to get the claim reprocessed because I was overcharged. They need to be held accountable for their actions! I have all the documentation and everything in writing as proof.Also, I called Coast Dental corporate office twice and escalated my complaint. I was promised both times someone will call me back within ***** hours but no one ever did! Resolution: I want them to send me my refund of $93.60.

      I have filed a complaint before on here and Coast Dental replied that they will reimburse me for my overpayment. They have contacted me back in June *********************************************************************** To this day I still haven't received my reimbursement! They are scammers! Going by the reviews on here, I see so many other patients are waiting on their reimbursements as well and never received this ! Coast dental needs to get sued and closed! It is beyond upsetting that they keep patients money, including mine. I've been dealing with them since the beginning of this year to get my money back. I had to take It in my own hands that they use the correct coding, that they send the x-ray pictures to my insurance to get It properly filed. Once that was all done, my insurance could properly file It and send the overpayment back which was for me and Coast dental acknowledged It. I have all emails with my insurance and their previous billing manager **********************. Now the new manager ********** keeps saying the reimbursement has to come from corporate but there is ZERO communication between her and the corporate office.

      I am rejecting this response because: I have gotten in touch with Coast Dental after they sent their response to BBB. I have provided them twice my credit card information and to this day they have NOT given me my refund back.

      Instead, ********** told me last week that its not approved to give me my refund back. My overpayment reimbursement was sent to Coast Dental and I should have long received It back. They keep ignoring and finding excuses not to send me my money.

      On March 7, 2023, I had an appointment with Coast Dental located in ******** Square in *****************. I was told that they no longer a dentist, that **************** had quit. I took the plan of treatment that **************** had previously given me, which showed what my dental insurance would pay. I was told that all I had to pay was $45, in which I paid in the office. Upon finding another dentist, who requested my x-rays. For over a week I continuously tried to contact coast dental to get my x-rays. Finally, on June7, 2023, I left a message through their call center stating that I needed my x-rays. I kept calling to no avail. Finally, I called back to the call center and left another message that I was on my way to *********** to get my records, because NO ONE WOULD EVER ANSWER THE ***** WHEN THE CALL CENTER REPRESENTATIVE TRIED TO CONNECT ME TO THE OFFICE. I WENT TO ******************** SQUARE OFFICE. I spoke with a receptionist, whose name is ******. I told her who I were and that I was there to pick up my records. She stated to me that she couldn't release my records, because according to her records I owed a balance of $49, and that I would also be charged $18 for my x-rays. I specifically said to her that wasn't true, I didn't owe anything, because when I was there on 3/7/23, I was told that all I needed to pay was $45 which I paid. I told her that my dental insurance paid the rest. She stated to me that the insurance didn't pay for two items. I spoke with ***** @UHC, @ 3:43pm on 6/12/23 when I arrived back home. ***** pulled up my FILE and she stated to me that my insurance paid the two items, that they were included in the payment to Coast Dental. Yet, ****** stated to me that in order to get my records I needed to pay that first. SO I paid it because the new dentist needs to see them before I can get a appointment. ****** pretending to give me the District Mgr.,# but it's the office# that No one answers. AFTER paying the total of $67, I still didn't get my records.

      My very first appt I was t**** for 4 hours and was never fully seen only had pictures taken. Although they charged me for the visit. My second visit they told me my insurance did not cover services that it actually did cover in which I was charged out of pocket again. When trying to get refund I was told it would take 30days max **** we are two months later and still nothing ! On top of that the supervisor *********************** is a liar and does not help she keeps claiming she will call me and I have yet to speak with her even when I know she is actually t**** ! I am homeless and the fact they just took my money instead of even remotely trying to run my insurance is RIDICULOUS! EVERYTIME you call corporate for patient relations you get the run around and sent to scheduling they cannot send you to any extension within the company you always have to call back ! *********** office needs a reevaluation and needs their employees reevaluated! Because of all of this I REFUSE to let them work on me again ! They essentially stole from me because they didnt even bother to do their job.

      I contacted Coast Dental about a wisdom tooth extraction, I went in the first time on March 8,2023 and received x-rays. I paid $45 for this appointment. I went back on March 22,2023 for the consultation and to set a date for the surgery. This appointment was $178.00. Everything went well and I had a date for the surgery. My first surgery date I was told they didnt have any anesthesia so I rescheduled. Second date came same thing no anesthesia. Ok the third time I was told flat out oh we don't do wisdom teeth extractions and we don't have any oral surgeons. Ok the thing is I paid for the x-rays, which I already had from my dentist, but they said I needed another one, and I paid for the consultation. I didn't receive the treatment but you guys get to keep the $ without providing the promised services. I would like a complete refund.

      Everytime I have an appointment to get 2 teeth fixed they change or cancel the appointment when I get there. It's has been ongoing for at least a year. They have inconvenience working hours by canceling my appointment..I believe I'm being discriminated because I have ********* They have Also cancel my appointment because the phone disconnected during a conversation. I would like get discounted services for all the inconveniences this dentist office has caused.. when I asked why my appointment was cancelled they said 3 different reasons why I couldn't be seen. Even Though I got a reminder text of my appointment 48 business hours before my appointment..and still no services being done. No contact at all has been done to reschedule before the appointment.. they are hurting peoples financial situations when they cancel and Have taken off work to go to the appointment and it's cancelled.

      Made a credit card payment for services rendered in the amount of $140.38, on day of service (10/12/22). I later learned that I had funds remaining in my Humana Flexible Spending account. I then called the Coast Dental office on DEC-29-2022, to make the $140.38 payment again, using the Humana Credit Card. ******************************* at the dental office processed the payment, and mentioned that I will receive a REFUND for $140.38 back to my personal credit card (original payment method), but REFUND request would be processed thru headquarters, and that it would take up to 6 weeks. To Date I have not received subject REFUND!!!I've tried (several times) contacting Headquarters, and no reply to date!It's been over 7 months NOW. Lousy Administration!!! They were QUICK to COLLECT but LACKING in the REFUND process!!!

      I began coast clear aligners on 9/12/22 for a financed amount of $2498.00. Initially, I was told that this cost did not accrue interest and that "it's like Afterpay". Also, that I will receive a free teeth whitening and a toothbrush upon consultation. However, I have not received said treatment and also the financing was not like Afterpay, it is literally just a credit card with interest. Additionally, during that time, I experienced issues with the trays but was unable to reach the office because they do not answer the phones. When I would be in the office in person, I and other patients witnessed the front desk associate actively not answering ringing phones; sending them to voicemail. When I would be asked to leave a voicemail, I was unable to as their mailbox was full. I eventually went in person and was given an email, which also was unaffective as I never received a response from an email sent in October 2022 and April/May 2023. I was able to get seen for a 6 month follow ** in March 2023 which was also the end of the aligner treatment. I raised concerns that I was confident I needed more trays and suggested a new mold to be sent to the lab. The dental hygienist said that she "did not know much about Invisalign" and that "if thats all they sent for treatment then that is all you need", denying my request of further treatment. Since then, I have attempted to reach corporate and the office, to which I was told in different ways that my complaint will be sent to corporate but could not be given a corporate number. I have asked for chat transcripts to be emailed, schedule in-person appointments, CC me onto emails to the regional manager, and was also told I would be getting a call back from corporate. It has been a few weeks since my last contact with them and at this point I want a refund and further monetary compensation for having my dental care being overseen by such a fraudulent, inconsistent, and incompetent dentistry that has a BBB report of an "F".

      Please accept this as Coast response to **********************. ****** is a 3rd party payment option in which ********************** would have applied on her own terms. Once treatment is accepted by the patient, we provide use of a tablet to apply for financing options. The patient is who confirms their information and reviews all the forms before agreeing to any financing options. Once a patient is approved for financing, the patient is provided payment options for either 6, 12, or 18 months. This is all selected and reviewed by the patient, not our staff through the tablet. Regarding the issue with speaking with the office. This office is one of our busier offices and at times there is only 1 person working the front desk which can cause items to be missed but voicemails are always reviewed and answered at the end of day. Upon review of the chart notes, it appears that the ********************** did inform the staff that she had concerns about not being followed through with her treatment. Depending on what treatment is needed, they do not always require follow up for treatment. That is one of the benefits to completing this treatment as its not like normal braces which require multiple follow **** This patient was informed that at the end of treatment she could return and we could re-take pictures and confirm all was well however it was noted that ********************** chose not to return. Reviewing the original complaint for the reasoning why ********************** requested the treatment was she wanted to close her diastema, which was confirmed closed at the end of her treatment. Since the desired outcome was reached, we are not completing a refund as the treatment did exactly what was designed to do and what the patient wanted. Thank you.

      Hello,

      No one from the office reached out to me to re-take pictures or offered for me to come in within these past four months. I declined a 6 month cleaning at my last visit since I am moving out of town in August. However, the dental assistant said she would be in contact with the regional manager re: getting molds re-done and sent to the lab and I still have not heard back from them since May. I do not understand why new molds cannot be sent to lab to verify whether further treatment is needed or not as I feel like my diastema is not fully closed. 

      Also, making excuses for lack of communication between a patient and the office is incredibly unprofessional and could potentially become an issue for patients experiencing emergencies. Unfortunately, it is not my problem that the office is busy and therefore cannot triage phone calls appropriately. That is a company problem that should be address within and patients should not be punished as a result. Hire more office staff or close the office if you are not adequate enough to handle the volume of phone calls.

They informed that you would need to complete the current treatment and if you needed additional treatment, this would be reviewed once the current treatment was completed however it was noted that you did decline the follow up. With the aligners, the aligners are designed to focus on the items you would like to change and that is what the treatment did.       Please accept this as Coast's response to ****************** complaint. We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your visit at our South ********** location. Upon review of the billing, you were not billed for tele dentistry however we are required to submit the claim to your insurance with any services provided at the cost that is agreed upon between your insurance and Coast Dental. I have provided the ledger which confirms the total cost of tele dentistry which is $0. The bill you provided is from your insurance company and not Coast Dental.  Additionally, we investigated to see what happened regarding your visit, the office staff did diagnose you with needing more than a regular cleaning to bring you back to optimal dental health. When more than a regular cleaning is needed, we are not eligible to deviate from the treatment plan. Therefore, we did provide all requested documentation to your insurance company for the grievance.       I visited the Coast Dental office on 12/12/2022.I was told that I had a $5.00 copay for the visit. When I went to pay it they told me that they would just take it out of the credit on my account. I had no idea that I had a credit, so I asked what credit and how much is it? She said it is $327.00, and that it was an overpayment from over a year ago. She said the balance will be $322.00 after the $5.00 copay and printed me my receipt showing my credit balance. I asked the lady for a refund, who said it would take forever to process, and she said that I had to talk to the office manager about it. So I went to the front office and I formally asked the office manager to please process my refund. She again reiterated that it would take forever, and she had to audit it first before she could send it to corporate. I said that is okay, how long will it take you to audit and send it up to corporate. She told me she would be done with it Friday, 12/16/2022, and would forward it to corporate.It has been 5 months now and I have called the local and corporate Coast Dental phone numbers to no avail. I have left message after message and nobody calls me back. Nobody ever answers the phone. I have filed a complaint with the ************************* to no avail.This is my money and they just thumb their nose at me and the *** office. The have basically stolen $322.00 from me and refuse to return it. It is unbelievable!I have attached the credit invoice with just some of the phone calls listed at the time I scanned the document. I have called many more times since that time, including calling again today.This company does not do business in a moral or ethical manner whatsoever.I could really use that money, which is mine.

      I am writing to file a formal complaint against Coast Dental *** regarding a debt that I am being pressured to pay, despite the fact that I do not owe any such debt. I believe that the actions taken by Coast Dental are unfair, unethical, and in violation of consumer rights.In February 2023 I visited Coast Dental for my routine cleaning and dental examination. I presently, and at the time, I had valid dental insurance coverage through ***************** According to the terms of my insurance policy, routine examinations and cleanings were fully covered.I also rendered on the spot any out-of-pocket expenses and confirmed with the dental office prior to leaving that my bill is clear. This was my normal business practice with Coast Dental.Due to the sudden change of office staff at their facility, after my visit, I received an invoice from CD claiming that I owed a balance of $537.40 for the services provided. Confused by this unexpected bill, I immediately contacted both Coast Dental and my insurance provider to rectify the matter.My insurance provider confirmed that the dental services rendered were indeed covered under my policy and that they had not received any claims or billing requests from CD. They advised me to contact the dental office to resolve the issue.I have made multiple attempts to resolve this matter directly with Coast Dental. I have spoken to their billing department, provided them with the necessary insurance information, and even submitted supporting documentation from my insurance provider to prove my case. However, despite my efforts, they have continued to insist that I am liable for the outstanding balance.I have been a customer for years with ********************** and I firmly believe that I am being unjustly pursued for a debt that is not mine, and I kindly request your intervention in this matter. I request that the Better Business Bureau investigates this case thoroughly and takes appropriate action to rectify the situation.
