in January of 2023 I visited the Coast Dental to establish a new dental care facility. At their request I made 2 payment totaling $262.14. I questioned the reason for the charge as my Insurance plan allowed for free cleaning and exrays yearly. They said my claim would be submitted and I would be re-imbursed . I presumbed after approval by my ****************** My insurance company has since notified me that my visit and services rendered were 100% covered and that my charge with tme was zero. I called at least 9 times and after the prompts was told someone would get back to me. To date no return call has been received. I called my insurance company and they also tried to reach Coast Dental but without success. Being unable to reach them by phone I made a personal trip to the office and was surprised that office personal were there. I truly thought they were out of business. The first visit I made I was told that the problem was that I was listed with my insurance under my maiden name of ***** and now I am ***********************. The office personnel person said she would re-submit my claim. The 2nd time I went I was told to take a seat and wait for help. I was worried about a pending Doctors appointment and left. I have since tried to contact them but always get the message to leave my name and phone number but no-one gets back to me. I have since obtained the service of a new dentist and am quite pleased with them, Following is the name and number of my insurance company who can verify my coverage and also they can verify the number of unanswered calls to Coast Dental. United Concordia ************. My id number is ************. Thank you I also have a reference number which I was given by the insurance company **********

I had a E0140 limited oral evaluation on January 31 2023, and was told by them that my health insurance did not cover this . So I paid $135 for the evaluation for root canals. After the appointment I called my health insurance and they stated to me that they do pay for that and the insurance company had me and the office personnel ******** and told her that their company need to invoice them and reimburse me in full. ******** said that she would submit an invoice for the evaluation. About a couple of weeks later I called ******** back and she had just processed the invoice and that I needed to contact corporate in *****. I kept leaving messages for corporate on the answering machine, and there were times when the machine was filled so it would not take messages. I called ***** office and spoke with ******** again and she said that it takes up tp three months before you receive a refund. I kept leaving messages for months and no call backs. On May 19th I received a check for $45.On Monday May 22 I called the insurance company and stated that they had paid them $45 in early March. She also stated that Coast Dental needed to reimburse me for the remaining balance of $90. The insurance company has a flat rate that is contracted with Coast Dental. I keep leaving messages and they are not returning my phone calls. I called the ***** office again talked to ******** and asked her if corporate had an email address and she said no, and that I need keep on calling corporate. My ID# *****. Please help me resolve this matter.

Coast are claiming I owe them $141 from my first visit to their practice on 12/22/2022, to which I have already paid $40 (on the day). The document I received at that time is attached. I disagree these are my costs (Coast should bill my insurance *** instead) and have since spoken to my insurance provider (Florida Blue Coast has their details already).I have been receiving past due and final notice letters from Coast, however, the fact these were issued at all is a direct result of Coast being unreachable and not returning my calls. One of their letters is attached, and I have populated it with what I think are the correct insurance codes. I had intended to discuss this with them, and to that end called their Billing Questions line on these dates 12/23/2022, 12/26/2022, 2/17/2023, 2/25/2023, 3/17/2023. No one ever answers though. On 3 occasions I left a detailed voicemail, complete with callback info, but they never returned my call. Coast claims that if one has a problem with any of their processes, we may call their Patient QA line. I did so this morning, 5/15/2023. However, this is false it is simply their scheduling call center and the people there, though nice, were unable to help directly. I asked them about their "patient QA" role, and they didnt know what I was talking about. The man there called Coast twice while I was on hold, but couldnt get through (the same experience as me). I asked to speak to a supervisor, and did, but the only thing he could offer was an emergency call back from someone in Coasts corporate office. That would have been fine, except that it hasnt happened yet - so again, Coast are not reachable despite my repeated efforts to resolve this. I initially thought this bill must have been a simple oversight, but the repeated lack of contact by Coast has me questioning this. I hope BBB can help with a resolution. I would rather not have this escalate any further to collection, but I think Im running out of time.

I went to get my teeth cleaned on 3/14 /23 after the appointment I was informed by the office manager that my teeth needed a special treatment or all my teeth would eventually fall out of my mouth. Then she told me that the dental hygienist would lose her license if she gave me a regular teeth cleaning because she had to do this other cleaning. I was very nervous and naive so I paid a down payment of $1,000 dollars. When I got home and thought about how it was presented to me and when I thought about what she said I quickly changed my mind. I called the next day canceling my appointment and asked them to refund my money. They said they would do so. I waited and called them back. At this point they then said that I needed to bring my I. D. And debit card into the office in order to get the refund processed. I still have not received my refund and I have called the office numerous times to which they refer me to somewhere else and I never get through. I keep calling the office and I get a recording saying that they can't answer the phone. I filed a complaint with BBB but it was the wrong one so I'm hoping that this is the right BBB of central **.

I made an appointment for a cavity, when I arrived they told me they had me down for a cleaning but could do the cavity in a few weeks... dental techs "evaluated"my teeth, I did not see an actual dentist, they informed me that my teeth needed a super deep cleaning which cost $1600.00, I did not believe this because my teeth had just been cleaned 6 months ago, when I would not sign off on this ridiculous charge they became angry within the office and refused me any regular cleaning service and cancelled my cavity filling appointment whilst I was still there and then told me I was dismissed and to leave... I was shocked! I went to make an appointment with a reputable dentist and they would not forward my **rays when I requested them on 03/27/23. I was forced to pay another dentist for the **rays and yet Coast dental still wants payment for said **rays they did. This is a horrible way to do business and Coast Dental cost me more money because they are by law supposed to release my **rays when I request but they did not. I feel stuck with bad service and double cost for **rays. Turns out I did not need this $1600 cleaning that they were demanding and my new dentist had no problem doing a regular cleaning, seems like Coast dental is trying to fleece the general public with their ridiculous high charges that are not needed, help!

I have been trying to get my wisdom tooth extracted. I called the office and was told to bring my x-rays in from my other dental office on 4/28/23. I dropped the x-rays off on 4/28 and have tried multiple times to reach this facility. An appointment was scheduled for 5/24. I received a phone call on 5/10 saying that no oral surgeon is available at the moment.

Please accept this as Coast's response to ******************. ****************** was originally scheduled at one of Coast dental locations but was transferred to another that had the specialist who could treat ******************. However, after scheduling her the specialist did decide, they are no longer going to be working at that office. When the office staff found out this information, they contacted ****************** to inform and offered information for another specialist within the area. ****************** was not happy with the information provided and did decline the information provided. We understand the frustration however we do not have a treating specialist at the Coast's locations to treat ******************. She is welcome to contact the local office again to get the information for the specialist. Please close complaint as answered. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: The information provided is not true at all. You all had me to drive to the ************** location to drop of my x-rays 4/28 when you knew an oral surgeon was not available. I received an email stating my appointment was 5/24. You all were supposed to see how much it would be by running my insurance. As 5/24 began to approach I called the office multiple times to see if you all were going to accept my insurance. You never answered the phone which is why I called the ******* location. The ******* location ended up calling you all and transferred me to the Stone Mountain location. When speaking on the phone with the lady from Stone Mountain she hung up. I then called ******* location back. The lady at the ******* location could not reach the Stone Mountain location. Why would I want to do business with a company that jeopardize my health or even did not contact me in regards to my health or make other recommendations? You've wasted not only my time by having me take the x-rays to you, but never even bothered to inform me that an oral surgeon is not available until I call. So delete my information out of your system, I'm not interested in a company that doesn't care about their patients or potential patients. How will you even perform 4 extractions when an oral surgeon is no longer there?

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

Please accept this as Coast's response to ******************. I understand the frustration with not being able to see the specialist. Without the required specialist this does not allow us to provide the required treatment you need which is why we have attempted to provide you with information for an alternative office to help you. Currently we do not have you scheduled for any visits, if you have further questions, please contact the local office. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: You all did not provide me with any other alternative option. Instead, you disconnected the phone call when I asked what can I do. As a dental office you all handled the situation incorrectly. Had I not have reached out to you all, I would have made a blank trip. You literally wasted my time by even having me bring the x-rays in knowing you did not have an oral surgeon available. That's false advertisement. This is like guaranteeing services that are not rendered. If I would have known this, I would never have driven to ************** in the first place. It's unacceptable to do this type of business to potential patients.

      Sincerely,

** March 2023 we received a bill from Coast Dental in the amount of $137.00. On April 5th, 2023 my wife issued a check for that amount from our bank. On 5/6/2023 we received another bill from Coast Dental for the same amount. We reviewed our bank account and noted ********************** cashed our check on 4/11/23. Reviewing the billing information on our account, it is clear the Coast Dental never applied those fund to our account. On the rear of the check cashed by Coast Dental, Coast indicates the following: "Credit to within named payee, Lack of End GTD ************ Lockbox ID ****** Site OR. Deposit date: 4/10/23 **************, Batch #6, SEQ #:0028." I uploaded images of the check we issued, and that Coast cashed. Our account number is on the front of that check. We would like to know why the funds we sent with the Coast invoice attached were not credited to our account.
