    Date of transaction: March 4 2019 Amount I paid to the business: $20,000 What the business committed to provide me: This business had planned an IPO offering. They collected lot of money but did not go IPO. In May 2022 they informed their IPO plan was shelved. They asked me to fill a form, get it notarized and send it to them. They were planning to return the funds and close down the company. I have that letter with me and proof that I sent it to them.After that, they have been just pushing the dates to return the money.Now, I am not even getting a response to my emails and phone calls.I trusted them and invested $20,000. Now I am left hanging with no response from them. Nature of dispute: Following up for my money to be returned that was not used for the purpose that it was intended for. Whether business tried to resolve the problem: They are not responding to my emails and phone calls anymore.     Hi,

     

    This complaint relates to an investment in the equity of a company SHANTINIKETAN INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION.

    The company has been defunct for the last 4 years. All the original employees have left the company.

    However, as a group company we are working towards buying back the shares of this company (at 50% value) from our other businesses in our group.

    The only other choice we have is to bankrupt the company which we do not want to do. However if we are unable to have sufficient funds for the doing what we want to do this would be the last resort.

    This is not a PURCHASE from us. This is a share investment in a company. Share values varies based on business environment. It could possibly go to zero also. I am surprised this is a complaint to Better Business bureau. If someone loses an investment in the shares of a company, would BBB be able to resolve the issue.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    - The business entity is claiming that the investment company and they are different. The busines entity is the one that promoted the share offering.

    - On Aug 9, 2022, the business entity emailed me that Disbursements were on the way and that I should be receiving my check in a few days after that. 

    - It is March 19, 2024 and I am still waiting for the check. Were they just lying to me on Aug 9, 2022?
