Needed a small roof repair. After many delays and phone calls they finally gave me a quote but not a price-essentially I was told that I was to open my check book and pay what ever they wanted to charge. Their undetermined number of workers would charge $120/hr per man and the charge would start when they left the business until they returned. On top of that they had a lot of legalese where you had to waive your rights for redress. Why would anyone do business like that?Altec Roofing

*******, we understand that it can be discouraging to be told that repair work is to be done on a "time and material" basis. It puts an unknown on top of an already stressful situation. However, Time-and-Material pricing is pretty standard when it comes to repair work. This is true for most roofers. We are not able to give a set price due to the many variables and unknowns encountered in a roof repair. What often presents as a small leak/repair can turn into something major once the actual roof decking is exposed. If we are not the original installer of a roof, there are protections that we must take (and any other business would do likewise) because we are not responsible for manufacture or original workmanship defects that could have, or may still, result in leaks after the repair is completed.
We submitted a proposal to do the repair, and you refused the work. Usually most interactions end there. Unfortunately you have decided to give us a one-star review based on the fact that you did not like our pricing structure. No company is immune to giving bad service or even mistakes, and when that happens we do everything in our power to make things right. However, in this situation your unhappiness with our company stems from a disagreement as to how we should price our services. Negative reviews, especially one-star reviews, adversely impact our business. I'm sure you understand that. If we had done something to negatively impact your property, I could understand such a response. However, nothing harmful was done by our company to your person or property, physically or financially. We acknowledge the fact that our pricing structure did not meet your expectations, but we do not feel that it warrants such a negative review. We kindly ask that you remove this review as its overall impact on our company severely surpasses any harm, perceived or actual.Review fromKaren C

5 starsI AM A PARTNER IN A LARGE (350 employees) ROOFING COMPANY ON THE OTHER COAST. It made no sense for me to send my crews in a truck 3 hours each way to get my rental property roof repaired. I contacted Altec as they were recommended. I had to wait for a repair appointment but I can understand why. They were thorough, responsive, clean and finished the job in the time frame they committed to. The repair estimate was fair. I've had no problems since then. 5 starsI contacted Altec Roofing and after an inspection of both the outside and inside of my roof was given a ROOF REPAIR CONTRACT PROPOSAL on January 22, 2024. The proposal included four (4) steps in the ***** OF WORK and was detailed enough for me to feel comfortable about the expertise and attention to detail that Altec would provide for my repair.Altec started and completed the repair on the morning of February 1, 2024. They were professional and cleaned up the work area.The labor, material and equipment charge required for this job was fair, and compared very favorably with other estimates I received.I would hire then again should I find myself in the need of other ROOF REPAIR in the future.Review fromPhil P

5 starsHighly professional organization. Fair pricing and outstanding communication. Supervision was fabulous. Clean up after every days activity. They followed up with and inspection a year after completion to make sure everything was up to their standards. I highly recommend Altec. Thank you!
