I bought a brand new lawn mower in February I live in **** it was winter. Model number hrn216vkab s/n mana-*******. I open the box the day after I bought it to inspected and found that the bag was gone Honda replaced the bag properly which I appreciate it. Yesterday I got it out of the box and put it together for my first cut so excited. Unfortunately it did not start it does not seem to be getting gas past the carburetor. ********** is unable to take it back because it's past the 30 days of the return policy which I understand. Honda was no help at all other than something about warranty. I feel the lawm mower should be replaced I never used it. I'm thinking maybe it was a return that would explain the missing bad as well. Seems to be very bad business practice.Initial Complaint

I am filing this complaint regarding my Honda HRX217HYA lawn mower, which is still under the manufacturers warranty. I took the mower to a Honda-authorized service center for a transmission repair. The service center improperly installed the transmission backwards and also failed to reinstall the lower guard, resulting in further mechanical issues.I brought the mower to a Honda Premier Dealer for inspection, and they confirmed the original repair was improperly performed and likely caused additional damage.Despite this, Honda has refused to cover the damage, claiming it is not a manufacturing defect and stating that their authorized service centers are independently ownedas if that removes their responsibility. I followed all official channels, used a service center listed by Honda, and am now left with a malfunctioning mower.Hondas position is unacceptable. They advertise a warranty and authorized service network, but when their own certified repair center causes damage, they deny accountability. This undermines consumer trust in both the Honda brand and the validity of their warranty.I am requesting that Honda either:******** or replace the mower at no cost to me,or 2.Fully reimburse me for the cost of the damage caused by the authorized service centers negligence. This situation has caused unnecessary stress and financial burden, and I expect Honda to take appropriate responsibility.Initial Complaint

Mower # HRN216VKAA Serial # ************. Broken part ( **************** was covered under warranty, but unavailable. Part was first ordered by me, then Dealer/Repair Facility. The Part has been on backorder for now for over 1.2 years. We have asked Honda to refund our money and they always gives us the same excuse "its coming please be patient", for how long? If your vehicle (car) was down for a $30 part for over a year, how patient would you be? We have documentation from the dealer but not sure how to unload it.Initial Complaint

We had purchased a Honda mower and after using it on our yard for the summer the power assistance stopped working. The mower has always been used as directed, maintained as directed, and stored in a shed protected from the elements. We attempted to file a request to have it fixed under warranty and the lady who oversees the warranty program has told us Honda cannot honor the warranty program. She has been unable to explain why this is the case. The authorized Honda repair facility has also attempted to contact Honda and explain that this damage should not be an issue from typical use and maintenance of a mower. They also were met with the same lack of response from Honda.Initial Complaint

I reached out to my local law enforcement before purchasing this 2007 400ex from the previous buyer. The officer told me it was clean and never been registered or titled. The seller told me he purchased it from the original owner. The original owner never received the Certificate of Origin after purchase and attempted to get it from ****** Motor Sales aka Honda Power Equipment in ************ however was not successful in his attempts. Therefore he could only supply the next buyer (the seller to me) with a bill of sale. Well when I contacted the officer before purchase she told me that she could see where it was sold but never titled or registered after purchase and told me to contact the business to attempt to retrieve the Certificate of Origin. I did so but they dont keep records but insist it was all filed properly. I am requesting that they actually search for them records of this sale and provide a proper report indicating what occurred. Its obvious this ATV isnt stolen or had an existing lien because of the *** verification the officer did for me. The issue here is I believe policy procedures may have not been followed post sale.Initial Complaint

I purchased a HRX217VKAA mower 7/14/24 and used it for 5 months. The crankcase seal failed while I was mowing and leaked all the oil out causing the engine to fail. I took it to the authorized repair center and Honda told them that the seal failing was not a manufacturing defect and they would not repair it. Apparently there is an internal service bulletin on this issue but they just don't want to admit there is a problem.Initial Complaint

I have a Honda Lawnmower model HRX217HYA tha has a defective/noisy drive transmission.I brought it in under a warranty repair to *************, Metairie, La.I was advised that Honda would not replace the transmission under warranty, but instead would pay repair facility to change the oil in the transmission ONLY.After this was done, there was no change in the internal noises coming from this transmission. The repair facility said there was nothing more they could do about it.I sick to my stomach with this issue and require a transmission replaced under *********** 1st Honda lawnmower lasted 28 years with no issues - this one is falling apart after 5 yearsInitial Complaint

Honda Inverter Generator 2200i. Purchased is 2020 and warranty expired in sept 2023. Used once in 2020 to ascertain that it was in working order. Noticed some oil spilling out in 2020 but thought maybe we overfilled it. Got unit out after hurricane ****** and the unit was spilling a "lot" of oil. Took it to a dealer and they told us that the crank case had a crack it in. It would be about $1500 to repair and the unit cost $1100 then. This generator never worked properly, we did not drop it and it was 100% broken when purchased. We pleaded with Honda to help and cover the cost or simply replace the unit. They refused after discussing this with their "technician". I asked to speak to a technician so they could explain to me how a generator can have a crack in the crank case. They refused.Initial Complaint

Honda HRX 217 Push mowers with the GCV200 engine has been know to have engine failures per even a Honda internal service bulletin. We have had 4 engines expire. The first 2 were paid under warranty and now they are denying the next 2. In hondas internal memo it states they have seen numerous failures after camshaft repairs. We have verified every possibility of an external failure (Mechanic mistake, Customer lack of service etc.) **************** still refuses to pay these repairs under their 5 year warranty when these machines are less than 8 months old. Essentially collecting their money and putting the repair on the customer. Which is of no fault their own.Initial Complaint
