Purchased brand new Honda mower twice as high as all other push mowers at ********** thinking we'd get what we paid for. Purchased the mower for only 2 strips of grass beside driveway and after only three months the deck was already rusting out underneath? Called Honda service and they informed us that this should not have already happened after only three months and shouldn't happen for several years? They told us to take the mower to one of the places they sent us addresses for that hardly any even answered phone and that more than likely we'd be receiving new mower. Then after cleaning mower and having time to drive all the way to only location that would even answer our calls , Honda then denied us help . Deck rusting out after only 3 months is rediculas and the cheapest mowers would have been better! Case # ********.They advertise there products and warranty all over the box at the store . But after three months wouldn't help us at all. The manager that called was even very rude and upsetting and attitude issues. Never again Honda anything. Scammed out of our money . Almost 700 dollars.

I purchased in September 2017 a Honda lawn mower (HRX217 model) from the *********** I retained and provided the receipt of purchase.I followed the maintenance scheduled as set forth in the manual that included oil changes and air filter changes. In late June, my son started the mower, it made an odd noise, and shut off after about 10 seconds. When I inspected the mower, it was low on oil and oil was plainly visible leaking from the valve cover. I took it to an authorized local Honda dealer. Honda confirmed my warranty eligibility and the text from the manual states that the entire lawn mower has a five year warranty. I looked forward to the mower being fixed under warranty! The authorized Honda dealer confirmed that the engine was seized and would not replacing at a cost of right around $600.1) Upon receiving a case number (********) and manager (***************************) and after *considerable* hassle and much inconvenience, my warranty repair was denied. 2) ******* kept using the language that only "manufactured defects" are covered. 3) ******* and Honda claim that the warranty denial was on the grounds that grass was observed in the intake. However, I was never provided any of the evidence of such despite repeated attempts and promises to send me the alleged evidence. 4) Further, I followed the maintenance schedule and the mower was always equipped with a properly installed air filter. It is my belief that the mower failed due to a leaky valve cover although it could have been any number of issues.5) I meet all the requirements put forth in the warranty fine print for eligibility.Honda and ******** did offer to cover half the cost of a new engine (not the labor) which amounted to about $200 of the over $600 total.I would like the entire cost of the repair covered. This would require reimbursement of $415.39 according to my calculations. This entire debacle had the mower in the shop for well over two months!

As of August 23, 2022 my Honda Lawnmower HRR216VKA is at the warranty repair dealer since April 06, 2022 with open case number ******** at Honda Power Equipment in ********** **. There is an engine problem. Honda REFUSES to replace the engine on this mower and sends the wrong parts to the warranty repair dealer. In Fall of 2021 the engine had a oil leak and the dealer returned the mower back to me in November 2021, after it was no longer needed for the season. In March of 2022 the mower was started with fresh gasoline and blew white smoke, hard starting and lost power. It was taken back to the same warranty dealer for repair. The dealer had problems with Honda deciding whether to repair or replace the engine. After 13 weeks, Honda instructed the dealer to order parts. Incorrect parts were received. A representative from Honda kept complaining that she could not contact the dealer (I had no problem doing that). I was told by the representative that Honda will only repair the engine. Finally on August 10, 2022 I received a call the mower could be picked up. It did not run well and conked-out after running rough. The dealer said "they will make it right". I don't know if the dealer messed-up or if Honda sent wrong parts again. It's now been 2-weeks and I have not heard back from anyone. So, after not having a running lawnmower since late 2021 I had to buy another lawnmower, put up with frustration over the Honda representative not taking proper action, put up with the dealer not keeping me informed. Soon it will be a year since having a running mower, I am out $450 out of pocket on the old lawnmower and spent $900 on a new Honda lawnmower before I knew it was a poor warranty and such a hassle with Honda to get it repaired. Honda has not offered to compensate me and they still refuse to replace the engine, just requiring the dealer to repair a faulty motor. Yes, I am angry and out $1,300 over all of this.
