I am a former resident of ***************. I moved in this apartment on August 23, 2021. After 30 days in the apartment, there was an obvious German ***** infestation in the apartment. I filed a complaint with peak campus as well as the property manager. The problem persisted for the entirety of my stay causes me to have to lodge my belongings at my mothers for fear of damaged property due to ***** f**** and and persistent water damage. Nonetheless, I filed a civil action with a lawyer who also contacted the apartments about a reduction in rent or better terms for exiting my lease agreement. I agreed to move out of the apartment under the terms that if I moved within two short weeks, the apartment would be relet to another tenant. These agreements are stated in countless emails between property manager and I. However, after moving, I recently reviewed my credit summary to discover that there were over $10,000 worth of charges placed on my credit and has drastically damaged my credit score. This is more than absurd and irregardless of our agreement, they allowed the charges to take place. There is no reason for these charges and after they let me down during my stay and no matter how inhumane or uncomfortable my term was, they were heartless and relentless in the end. They acted as if they were concerned and willing to accommodate but instead they said whatever was needed to be stated in order to remove me and still charged me. The arrogance of this company to have written communication from not only me but a lawyer and still violated the trust of someone who was the victim. As a single mother I am broken and hurt. Although I understand that emotions should not into play but they didnt suffer I did. My children did. That couldve cared less and people should know about it.

      Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Upon further review of our customer care system and your submitted maintenance request, we have not found any complaints or requests submitted regarding the pest control issue. You will need to continue to work with the collections agency as you did not fulfill the terms of your lease and therefore was charged for the duration of your lease term.

      Thank you

On 1/20/2023, I paid $50 (primary applicant) and my brother paid $50 (guarantor) to apply to the 27 North apartments floor plan 2C in ************ (Payment confirmation number: *********). When we applied, the 27 North online application only had 2 lease term options available: 6 months or 10 months. 10 months (August 15, 2023-June 14,2023) was the only lease term that worked for us so that is what we selected on the application. However, the documents and application fees had been submitted and upon approval of our application, we were sent an email asking for us to sign a 12-month lease term agreement (August 1, 2023-July 31, 2023). I am a college student who cannot live at the apartments for the last two months of their 12-month lease term, which I had not applied for in the first place. My roommate and I both called the apartment leasing officers hoping to resolve this issue. We requested that they change the 12-month lease term agreement to 10 months because 10 months is what we applied for. Had we known they only offer 12-month lease terms, we would not have applied for their apartments and paid the $100 application fee, to begin with. They denied our request to change the 12-month lease term to 10 months even after admitting that the 10-month lease term listed on their online application was a glitch in their system. At the time of our calls to the workers, they even admitted to seeing our application statuses show that we applied for a 10-month lease, but still said we can only sign and pay for a 12-month one. Given all this information, they still left us with a non-fitting solution of either moving in earlier or later. They never even had a 12-month lease term available to select at the time of our application, and only recently changed it after our complaints. It's unfair and misleading that we applied for a 10-month lease term and are obliged to pay and live for a longer 12-month lease term because of a mistake on their behalf.

I have lived here since 2020 and at the time, the apartments were in working condition. With new management, the place is unsafe and filthy and I had to move out. They will not release me from my lease when the place has no working locks from the outside (the apartments are not in a good location), there is trash all over the place and dog f**** all throughout the hallways. There is no way this would pass any kind of inspection for people to live and pay almost $800 a month for. It doesn't matter how many times I try to contact them, there is never anyone available to speak to. I have tried and tried to work with them and now they've sent an eviction notice and charged me for rent through July 2023. This is unacceptable.

      Hello *******,

Thank you for reaching out and bringing your concerns to our attention. As, you know the property is currently undergoing construction. We will ensure that at this time the grounds are being better maintained. While we do rent to anyone who meets our rental requirements, the property is meant to serve the university as well and therefore it is located right next to campus. Per your lease agreement, in order to terminate your lease without eviction you will need to find someone to take over your lease. Until this person is found, you remain financially obligated to the terms of the lease.

      Thank you

      Customer Answer

Thank you for responding but dog feces, trash all over and broken locks on doors is not construction.  I filed a complaint and not only did no one respond, they terminated my lease and now it's saying I owe $4800.  I have pictures of before I sent the complaint and 30 days after which is allotted time an apartment building has to correct the issues when it's an unsafe place to live and basically unlivable.  I told them I was willing to even split the lease but again, no one responded.  My mom is the co-signer and she has called and no one ever responds.  I suppose we will proceed with a lawyer.   I thought I would try this route first because locally, we can't get anyone to communicate with us.

We appreciate you contacting us regarding your property and have reached out to our team and addressed your concerns regarding maintenance, cleanliness of the community, and communication with staff and residents. Unfortunately non-payment of rent leads to initiation of eviction proceedings in all cases. We recognize that you are requesting a difference in that, but we are unable to approve changes to the process when payments aren't made. If you have any questions about payments, evictions, and collections processes, please contact us at ***************************************.

      Thanks.

I am rejecting this response because:  We have sense settled this but it's still unacceptable as this building was nowhere livable and still is not.

      Sincerely,

While living at Muse Apartments during the first lease, there were contaminants in the second bathroom preventing any of my adult children or my grandchild from spending time with me. When I went to the dermatologist and general practitioner in summer 2020 I was given ciproflaxen for the first time--a medication for the black plague still on-going in Africa, along with Ebola, Aids. HiV, HPV, and covid-19. I was also prescribed Hibiclens for the first time EVER and still must use this about every 2-3-6 months since that time. I asked **** to move me to a new apartment in early **************************************************************************************************************************************** Fall 2021. I had dropped a class in spring 2020, then two classes in fall 2020 after being on the ****** list and winning multiple scholarships. Anyone who knows me could see by my grades that I was very sick. Thankfully I passed one course, but again I needed a break. They had also found tumors in my uterus and I was sent to a rheumatologist. All of this can be found in two emergency rooms at ************* and at *************************** Clinic and *********** et, **** took a break and moved to another apartment-- the argument being that my on-campus apartment at *** had been the certain cause of my illnesses---NOT MUSE with a dirty, **** filled pool, dog s*** all over the grounds, or low-to NO insect control with pets and f**** everywhere ??. Things went from bad to worse: While living in the second apartment summer 2021, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease after multiple calls for pestcontrol. I again took ciproflaxin and Hibiclens and began to worry if indeed I might have the black plague--buboes ?? or black boils formed on the inside of my thighs and my legs began to give out from under me. Although I felt well enough to go back to work, by the end of summer through September my washer/dryer "BritBox" played out and I wasn't given a replacement until sometime in late October or early November. By that time strep had set in and I was diagnosed with Strep A, also known as rheumatic fever and scarlatina. The "tenement style" line drying along with unsanitary conditions compounded problems already alive and well in my system. I believed this to be ********** by proxy, given to me by yet another "working" member of one police officers harem, or rubber plantation--if you believe he uses one. This was confirmed when I was prescribed a vaginal cream and picked it up at ********* just before being diagnosed with scarlatina. I walked into ********* sick as a dog and a pregnant woman of about the same height, weight, and color as the property manager at Muse announced aloud for EVERYONE to hear at *********--men, women, and children that "****************** YOUR BOOTY CREAM IS READY". MORTIFIED, I called ********* corporate and had her fired and have not seen her since. However there were other members of the harem who began harassing me at work until I resigned--all of the same height, weight, and color as the first two women. The reason: too many complaints against me and that I'm no more than a smart asset. Before I left my lease at Muse Apartments I had contracted MRSA or parvo--we werent sure--Lyme disease, Strep A, which aggravated preexisting conditions of rheumatic heart disease and RA. Since that time I owe at least $1000.00 in tuition and fees to *************************** not including any outstanding balances on my credit report or my daughter's --she also lived there and experienced the same in a THIRD APARTMENT on the SECOND FLOOR, away from ground waste and bugs. We were planning to move into a double apartment together to save money and help one another in January ************************************************************** January when we were pushed to re-sign single rooms. The double miraculously became available in February 2022, much to our chagrin. This is when I wrote to HUD and the ******** Attorney General about this matter. ********* resolved their matter and **** is continuing to resolve theirs, however Muse Apartments continues to play innocent when they were truly the instigator of many, many problems which they dumped on me, my family, and *************** Apartments. It is my hope that they will let go of debts to myself and my daughter, and pay the *** tuition and fees of $1000.00, siting that they call themselves "student housing" when they should be advertised as "tenement housing". I felt discrimination against me and my family personally for my race, and everyday, ****** was left in the office, on the lounge chair, and pushed in my face as if my name were not ***************************. How dare you presume to know my choices about ANYTHING. Because I have a white afro? They are racist and I've had to straighten and dye my hair that looks naturally like Barbara Streisand in The Way We Were! I could dye!!!!

I am falsely being charged $150 which has now been reported the credit agencies and has harmed my credit score. I am looking to get my credit score corrected and financial compensation. On August 2, 2022, nine days after move out and the end of my lease on July 24, 2022, I received a PDF via email with the subject line, Move-out Statement from Woodlands Apartments 721 with written email content stating Your Final Statement from Woodlands Apartments 721. This document shows an Outstanding Balance line exhibiting $0.00 which is also reflected further into the documents itemizations. Three months later on November 18, 2022 I received my next correspondence from the Woodlands Apartments. This Email had the same subject line of Move-out Statement from Woodlands Apartments 721 and same email content of Your Final Statement from Woodlands Apartment 721 The statement date is dated November 18th, 2022 and includes a statement balance of $150.00. Further the enclosure claims that Notice Given Date is July 25, 2022 which is false given the previous emailed statement. The itemized charge under outstanding charges is dated November 18th, 2022 with the description of Move out damages - Carpet Steam Clean, Touch Up ****** ********* Clean. My lease with the Woodlands Apartments ended July 24, 2022.
