On August 2, I had Thomas Concrete pour a slab at my house. They asked me to give a blank check to the first ****** and that they would charge my checking account accordingly after the last truck and they knew exactly how much concrete was used. They gave me the receipt and it was $6,255.56. On August 5, I checked my bank account and it showed the check was written and cashed for $10,188.88! This left me in a tight situation where I had to borrow money to keep up with my bills. I spoke to the office manager that acknowledged they made a mistake on their part, but it had to go through a process before refunding me the difference. She told me it would take no longer than 1-2 weeks. After two weeks, still no Refund so I called back. This time she told me it was going to take 2-4 weeks. I called again today to see if they had a better idea of when I would receive my money as it put me in a very tight situation. This time she told me 4-6 weeks!

      Complaint #********

Thomas Concrete apologizes for the situation involving Mr. ****** We were made aware of the over-billing and immediately started the reimbursement process. Typically, this takes 3-7 days depending on the method of repayment the customer requests. Unfortunately, this coincided with a change in our internal accounting system. And Mr. ****** refund paperwork was regrettably misplaced during this transition.

A full refund was issued to Mr. ***** on 8/28 via ACH payment. Additionally, we are processing an additional $60 payment to cover the potential lost interest lost while waiting for his refund.

Thomas Concrete considers this situation resolved, as we have not heard from Mr. ***** since the payment was made in late August. However, we have investigated our COD payment process to avoid the initial over-billing with future customers. We have also addressed how we respond to BBB complaints to eliminate this extended resolution period in going forward.

Thank you for your help with this resolution. Again, we apologize for the multiple delays with this process. Thomas Concrete takes these complaints seriously. And we will ensure prompt communication and resolutions in the future.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *****

On April 23, 2024, at approximately 9:20am, I was traveling on the Loop 10 bypass in ******, ** going toward the ****************************, following a Thomas Concrete truck in the far right lane. The concrete truck starting throwing rocks everywhere hitting several cars. A white truck went around and I also went around in the left lane. As the white truck was going around the concrete trucks, rocks were hitting it. As I was going around the concrete truck, rocks were being thrown everywhere, hitting my windshield and cracking it in three places. I immediately called Thomas Concrete ****** office to let them know what just happened and they asked where I was, I told them. They gave me a number for claims that was not a working number. I called them back to let them know that it was not a good number. Then on 4/24/24, I looked online for the corporate office numbers and found ************* who I called. They gave me a number for ******************* to file a claim. I have called and left several messages with no response. Then on 4/25/24, I called the ********************* for Thomas Concrete and left messages but no response to date. I am not able to get any assistance with filing this claim to get my windshield repaired. I have pictures of my cracked windshield; one of the cracks have spreaded further across my windshield. I went to the *** police department to get a police report also. Please help me get in touch with Thomas Concrete to file this claim to get my windshield repaired. They are not responding from any of their offices.

On the date of January 10, **** at 12:27pm I witnessed a Thomas Concrete truck pull from a side street next to my home and run through my property causing deep ruts in my yard. I happened to be outside my home painting posts in my front yard when I witnessed the occurrence. I contacted the local plant for Thomas Concrete and was given a number for an Operations Supervisor named ****** (Im sorry I didnt get a last name but his phone number is **************) I spoke with ****** and he stated he would send someone to my home either during the remainder of the business day on January 10th or sometime on January 11th to fix the ruts (which are about 7-inches deep). Unfortunately, nobody from Thomas Concrete ever showed up to address the damage they did to my yard. Thats all I want. My yard was in good condition before they drove through it and I just want them to repair it so that there arent ruts in it.
