  I had worked for Amedisys for almost 2 years. Left my position due to poor communication, lack of respect and no support. At first, they were very nice and had a good orientation. Then they burn you out with lots of clients added to your day. I never received an exit interview, so I am just saying now that they seemed all nice during the first year of my work experience. 2nd year, after they seem to know what you are capable of, they take advantage of you. I called in sick a few days and the *** grumbled and was upset with me. The support was lacking. It seemed the office staff cared more about the clients than staff which may be a good thing, but we are the ones taking care of the clients! The staff will talk about the clients complaints but do not investigate what happened and do not talk to the staff ! Instead of building us up, we are put down and get no respect. No reply to our texts or phone calls at times when we need them out in the field. ********************* may not pay for wound supplies and need to be looked into. No back up supplies available at times. This company is not all its supposed to be. Office staff can be very disrespectful to work disciplines. I would not work for this company!! No team work involved. Communication is lacking with office staff. High turnover with working staff.

  My husband had a severe stroke on June 25...then to ***** where he had PT OT SPEECH 6 hours a day...we've been home one week...the nurse ***** was super..PT came out to evaluate him ...so in one week, with his left side so weak. No PT OT or speech..I called and ****** said..what do you want me to do..rude..I picked the wrong home health care..Kathysills for *************************

  I would never refer anybody to a Amedisys home health. They were constantly sending me to the emergency room for no reason their nurses are totally incompetent and they have denied me home health for some reason that they wont even tell me they just said that they have the right to deny me Ive been in the hospital for three months. Im almost better and I only need home health just for a couple weeks companies like this who deny sick people treatments should be held responsible

  Wow! After looking at all the negative requests, I do not feel bad about adding another one. My brother in law is home hospice. REMEMBER: HOSPICE DOES NOT MEAN DO NOT TREAT. Well that is what this agency does. Amedisys is not a Hospice Facility. It is a get ready to die and they help by doing nothing for the hospice patient. My BIL HAS BEEN IN HOSPICE FOR 1 WEEK AND THE ONE NURSE THAT CAME OUT SAT AND WATCH MY SIL DO ALL THE WORK. WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF HER COMING OUT. THIS ORGANIZATION DOES NOT LIVE UP TO HIS NAME. I thought that this Organization would be better than the *******************************. It acts as a extension of UOM. My BIL is getting no help for phis home hospice. There is a difference from Philly hospice and ********. If you get sick in ******** please find a way to move to philly. AMEDISYS IS NOT A GREAT ORG. MY BIL, ALTHOUGH IN HOSPICE. HIS CURRENT SITUATIONIS BETTER SINCE WE HAVE BEEN LLOOKING AFTER HIM . WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE! I WOULD NOT GIVE ONE STAR . I GIVE NO STAR. BUT BECAUSE I HAVE TO I GIVE 1.FROM NO HELP FOR THE HOME HOSPICE PATIENT.

  I had the pleasure of working with some of the best nurses, aides, chaplain, liaisons, social worker, NPs and physician during my time at Amedisys Hospice. However, this company abuses its employees. The director and her higher *** are aware and turn a blind eye. Please dont request days of PTO for any reason, because you will still be expected to work for the company on scheduled days off. And many things are done that are not in the best interest of the patient, in order to ensure profit margin. Also, HIPAA whos she? If you dont mind having healthcare providers come into your home that are facing these conditions, along with other employees being cursed at and belittled by their director, and a director who is out of the office more than she is present, then Amedisys Hospice is your best choice. I would think twice before pursuing this company in any form as a patient, caregiver or potential employee.

  The day Amedysis met my Mom she WAS transioning. They kept saying she was not and kept wanting to cut back meds 3 times. Said my Mom would act one way with them and another way with me the entire time of there services. WHO CARES HOW A DYING PERSON IS ACTING. I told them she had terminal agitation and hallucinations that I never saw In my life with my Mom. I sat with my Mom every day most all day and watched decline sometimes decline twice in one day. I told them she was text book symptoms of life again they argued about it saying it is not then went out into the hall and talked about me to the nursing home nurses. Stating I was googling info and not letting them do there job. Refused daily visits and refused to take my mom off unnecessary meds such as blood pressure pills. I FIRED them on Monday and my Mom died 72 hours later. Shout out to Gateway hospice who picked her up next day as she was ACTIVELY DYING. They were so loving a supportive put us on daily visits stopped all unneeded meds and explained everything that was happening in my Moms body. They cared and listened to what I saw. How ignorant and rude to arguing if someone is dying or not. I have hundreds of videos and pictures of needed and anyone can call me for the rest of the story.

  They let me down. Shameful as my first visit was just minutes away and got called off. I was immediately called and informed that I wasn't compatible with the best fit for their services despite knowing all my health needs during the hospital visit. Now I've been a week without assistance struggling to find a replacement company. Frustrating.

  If you wish to keep your family do not use this company.. Having said that to say this . Having used their services for roughly 3 for my disabled wife who had severe bed wound and was bed bound we added **************** to her medical coverage for her medication. We did not know it would affect Amedisys at all . After the 5th month I got a call from the company who told me by doing so they hadn't been paid for 6 weeks. The person that called was extremely rude and I explained that I didn't know that they were not being paid. So she got upset with me so I hung up on her. The following week DCF showed up at my house claiming my wife was being abused and neglected. This was clearly retaliation. My house was in somewhat of disarray do to rearranging furniture. There were puppy pads on the floor that had been used for their intended purpose in which Amedisys claimed that the house was disgusting and trashy . I'm now fighting DCF to keep my wife and family together. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY SERVICES IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR FAMILY TOGETHER.

  I am the caregiver for a 99yo female. We have used several home health agencies over the years as she just had her 3rd hip surgery. Not one has ever been as helpful as Amedisys. From Nan, our nurse, who has managed to save my ladys foot, literally, to *********, who has spent hours with us helping in too many ways to count. *******, the sweetest drill *******/ physical therapist and big tall **** that my lady loves talking to and looking at. Very nice guy. He could lift her with one arm, practically, and plop her wherever, her giggling the whole time. Everyone from this company has earned our respect and trust and showed such compassion and dedication to the work they do. Wish we could give them more than 5 stars. So thankful.
