1 starPersistent Taurus CS & Order Issues. Two unsatisfactory Taurus CS/order fulfillment experiences (late 2024 - mid-2025) highlight systemic issues.
First Experience: Delayed Order & Chargeback. My Dec 2024 order faced severe delays. CS gave no timeframe; over 12 hrs on hold showed deficiencies. Indefinite delay led to cancellation/refund. After a month, no refund. I initiated bank chargeback. Taurus shipped, appearing try to invalidate claim. Bank approved chargeback after proof of refused delivery/return to sender. Concerns about transparency.
Second Experience: Incorrect Item, Inconvenient Returns & Unprofessional Conduct. Despite prior negative experience, a July 25 discount led me to try Taurus again for a *** magazine. Received used magazine with wrong sleeve. CS (15 mins wait) offered only sleeve; I refused, insisting on new, magazine not used. Return inconvenient: can't use **** must use *****. Replacement won't ship until my return, prolonging resolution. Most concerning: during polite call, I informed rep I was recording (permissible in ******). Rep immediately stated they'd terminate call if I recorded, then hung up. Refusal suggests profound lack of transparency and desire to avoid accountability.
Overall Assessment & Recommendation. Taurus shows systemic issues in CS/fulfillment: inaccuracy (incorrect/used items), inconvenient returns (burdensome for company errors), lack of proactive resolution (asked me to accept used), poor communication/accountability (long waits, no updates, call recording incident), questionable business practices (shipping after chargeback). Taurus products may be ok, but customer experience is undermined by operational deficiencies. Minimal commitment to satisfaction, doing only minimum to avoid legal. Second chance disappointing. I will update on replacement outcome. Given cumulative issues, especially call recording incident, I strongly advise extreme caution buying directly from Taurus. I will avoid future orders.Review fromJoshua B

1 starAlmost exactly a year ago, I bought a Taurus ***. Most of my gun friends would say that was my first mistake. However, the *** was gun of the year in 2023 and Taurus had recently moved production to Georgia so quality was supposed to improve.
The first time I took the gun out to shoot it would fail to feed 100% of the time. Didn't matter what ammunition was used or how many rounds were in the magazine. I reach out to their warranty department and they tell me to ship the gun back to them. It takes 6 weeks for them to tell me that there is a defect with the slide. Many months later when I check on status, they say they can't fix the slide and ask if I would be OK with an aftermarket slide. The aftermarket slide was optics-ready and from a reputable manufacturer so I said sure. Fast forward to June of this year and I check on status only for them to tell me they can't get any slide for the gun and would have to send a completely new gun which then had to go to an FFL due to serial numbers not matching.
They sent the gun to a local FFL and I had to go through all of the paperwork that I already had when I purchased the original AND was charged a $100 transfer fee. I reached back out to Taurus USA to tell them that I shouldn't be responsible for the transfer fee since they could have sent my original gun directly to me had they been able to fix it. They basically said too bad, we don't cover transfer fees. That would be acceptable if I had any fault in the matter, but the only fault I had was buying a Taurus in the first place. Too any of my friends who plan to buy a gun....don't buy from Taurus, they can't even fix THEIR OWN manufacturer defects and you can't trust it when you need it most. They also don't care about basic customer service when they are at fault.Review fromDarren B

1 starMy local gun shop sent my taurus *** in for service, in December 2024, because the take down lever was not locking in the slide and the slide would just slide off. Taurus was not able to fix the problem and said they would replace my firearm with a new one. Seven months later, and I still don't have my firearm. That's unacceptable. And I have not had any communication from Taurus and neither has the gun shop. I may just trade in the gun when I receive it.Review fromTony M

Don't waste your time and money with this refuse of a company. I never had a problem with Taurus until now. I purchased a Taurus ***, and it doesn't work. As aforementioned, never once had a problem with their firearms until now. It doesn't load properly and continuously jams, and barely accepts any of the ammunition it is rated for.
I have owned 2 of these, each time I've had to send it in for repairs. The first time they handled the situation perfectly and fixed it... this time they are dodging calls, putting you on hold until their automated system kicks you off, or you hang up.
Each person that I did finally manage to speak to speaks incredibly fast. Is full of attitude, then hangs up on you when you attempt to inquire what is going on with your repair.
I submitted my pistol for repair, the day after purchase because it had the same issue as the last one I owned, and that was on February 22nd, it is now June 3rd. Taurus has continuously avoided any contact and is just holding my pistol and refusing to do anything with it in favor of non-warranty repairs.
I have done lots of research and found Taurus has been doing the aforementioned to avoid honoring their warranties, and I should have listened to those who tried to warn me about this company.
They have no intention of righting their QC issues or any wrongdoing to their customers; I'd sooner trust a telephone scammer over this company.Taurus USA

For Christmas I got a Heritage .** revolver. The cylinder would lock up and I would have to remove the cylinder bolt to free it. I sent this in for repair. Taurus receiver this firearm January 7, 2025. I have reached out to them numerous times and they keep telling me repair times are 6-8 weeks. Well, it has been four months and they are still telling me 6-8 weeks. This is very frustrating.
I think it just needs a new cylinder. This should not take months. I hope one day I get a repaired gun back.Taurus USA

I purchased a brand new firearm, it was having issues that made it inoperable out of the box, and it took almost a month and multiple attempts from me initially reaching out to their customer service to even get a ticket created and receive postage info to send it back in for repair. It has been well over a month since they have received it and I have been unable to reach them in the time since.
They have been using an excuse of transitioning to a new customer support system since at least February- it is a clear excuse for low staff, high turnover and horrible management. This is inexcusable over such a long period of time.Taurus USA
