    The Consulado General de Guatemala in ******** is the only consulate in ******* where Guatemalan citizens can renew their passport. For months now, I have attempted to make an appointment and they don't answer calls and it says there are no appointments available online. I would understand if there were really no appointments available, however this establishment has shady business going on where random people (seemingly employees or relatives of the employees) charge people fees for setting up appointments, most being $50 or $95 fees. This is not a fee through the office. Online they claim that setting up appointments is free but in reality they're scamming people into paying. This is a huge issue because some people like me, need our passports for emergencies and in order to leave the country for medical reasons. You can find reviews online to back up my claims. I also received a phone number from a relative of mine for a person who you can pay for appointments, which I will not be doing.

    Business does not answer phone and website does not work. These two sources are needed to be able to receive the service of the embassy by scheduling an appointment. Employees at the facility are rude and disrespectful! Do not help clients set appointment and direct everyone back to website and phone when once again they do not work / answer. This is not a place where you can stop going and go to a different location. Travel out of the state is not available to everyone. The resolution is a deep investigation into the business. Being able to set an appointment. Personally have called for 3 months every day straight and no one has responded.

    Someone needs to investigate this business as no one ever answers the phone so we can schedule an appointment and we call they hang up immediately. I have been trying to call for 4 months, and no one answers. You can check on ****** reviews how bad their customer service is, which is ridiculous! How are people supposed to schedule an appointment to get very important documents? At this point, someone else should be running this place or they should be shut down immediately if they can NOT provide service to clients.
