Really poor care. My Mom had a rehab stay here. Went in her room one day and found her pills floating in a small plastic container of ice water the pills were almost submerged (I have a photo and wish I could upload it). If I had not shown up, who knows what would've happened. It's against the law to administer pills like that. Imagine if it were your mother that had dementia and was not cared for in this way. Another day I went there and she was finally in the rehab room (another story) found pills in her bed amongst an excessive amount of crumbs. Unreal! She was rarely dressed for the day and left alone excessively. Families are helpless in these situations. I called a GA senior abuse line and never got a return call.

This facility is owned by Empire Care Centers and they have a beautiful mission statement. However, Marietta Center for Nursing and Healing does not even come close to accomplishing that mission. Words are pretty but actions speak louder than words. My loved one was on hospice and was not treated with dignity and care. A bed ridden patient, as he was, needs to be rotated in bed every two hours. He was not rotated on any regular basis for two weeks. I believe the only time he was rotated was when I asked for that service. There is a nice poster near the facility entrance that states the protocol for good skin protection. Obviously, this is not enforced at this facility. If a patient needs some attention and is able to press the call button, most likely the call will not be answered. I pressed the button for help and no one EVER responded. I finally went out to the nurse's station and located a nurse standing by the beeping noises, seemingly doing nothing, and asked for some pain medication and she brought it within five minutes. Patients who are not able to press the button or walk out to seek help are just left to suffer. As things are right now, I could not in good conscience recommend this facility to anyone.
