I have been billed for charges that do not belong to me. On June 20th, 2023 I received a statement from GI Specialists of Georgia stating that I owe $920.00 and that it is past due. I did not have any bills for this amount and my insurance has paid my 2 claims. I noticed that the referenced account number is not the same as my account number so I called the billing department on the statement, on June 20th at 1:56 pm est. NOTE - This was the first notification I have received regarding this issue. I spoke with a lady named, **** and told her that I received a statement stating I owe money and it is past due and it's a mistake. I gave her the account number and she told me it belonged to a ************************* in ************** Georgia that was hospitalized in January. I explained to her that I was never hospitalized, the first time I came to this facility was in late February, the account number does not match mine and that I am in no way related to a *************************. She read out his name, address and phone number and asked if any of that information was mine. I told her that this is a mistake and not my bill. Her response was, "I do not know how to fix this and will have to ask the manager". I asked what the manager's name is and she told me ***********************. I asked for her last name and she refused to give it *** me. She told me someone would call me back on the same day. To this day on one has contacted me. On June 21st, I sent a certified letter to GI Specialists of Georgia, attn: *********************** telling them this was a billing error and that this needs to be corrected asap and to make sure this was not sent to any collection agencies or credit bureau's and to send me something in writing stating how this error occured and what they are doing to fix the error, emphasizing my concern that this derogatory information will be put on on my credit report. Today, I checked the mail and I have received a statement from ************************* dated June 24, 2023 in my name stating I owe $920.00. This is not my debt and I want this corrected immediately with a letter, as I requested stating that his has been corrected and how the error occurred, how it was fixed and to assure me this would not be reported to my credit. The employee responsible for the serious error needs to be held accountable and reprimanded.
