Called 2 weeks ago, i gave address for delivery quote for a load of dirt. Was quoted $75 delivery charge over the phone. I called on april 23 to place the order, gave my address and was verbally told price for delivery was $75 and was then told the total was "around $550" including the dirt. They delivered the dirt and left an invoice on my step for $663.40. The delivery charge was $180. I did not agree to this price. I never signed anything. I was verbally misled. I called the business asking for a refund of the difference of the delivery charge (about $112) and was denied.

As stated, the customer called in on 4/23/24 and placed a order over the phone for 8 cubic yards of screened dirt to be delivered to their address which is located near ****,**, which is 37 miles from our location at ********************************************************* .The customer was charged $180.00 just for the delivery charge, usually we charge an additional $5.00 a mile for anything out of our 15 mile delivery radius. The customer actually didn't get charged the full delivery charge which should of been $265.00 just for the delivery. As was explained to the customer when they called for a refund, they were given the information stated above. I attached our delivery and policy page from our company price book for reference. Our small delivery truck cannot legally haul 8 cu. yards, so there would not have been a $75 delivery charge for that amount of material. Only our tandem axle trucks can haul legally 6 cu yards and up.

I was never informed it would be that much. When I called on April 8 to get a quote, I was told $50 for delivery. When I said it was an **** address, he said delivery would then be $75. Then when I called on April 23 to place the order, I gave my exact address, again confirmed the $75 delivery charge and was told the total amount would be "around $550". At no point was there any phone call or communication to me stating the amount would be more because it was "outside the delivery area". The business had my address and quoted a delivery amount. Why is it my responsibility to ensure that they quoted me an accurate delivery charge? Shouldn't the business be in charge of that? Had the delivery been 10% or even 20% more than I was quoted, then I would be fine with that and we wouldn't be having the conversation. However, the delivery charge was 240% more than I was quoted. That is a problem.

To top it off, they advised the delivery would occur next day on April 24 but they specified no time. I called at 3:20pm that day since no delivery had been made yet. The female I talked to was very nice but had trouble finding the order. She finally found it and proceeded to ask for my CC info again. I told her that I had already provided that info to the male that I spoke to earlier when I placed the order. It seemed highly unorganized and no one knew what was going on.  She then told me that it would not in fact be delivered that day and would now be the next day. So, they quoted me wrong on delivery charge, then they overcharged me by $105 without my consent. Then they told me it would be delivered on the 24th, then they never showed up and was a day late. All I want is the business to keep their word on the delivery charge or perhaps meet me in the middle somewhere. I did absolutely nothing wrong.

If the customer can provide a sales quote made from our company from that month stating their clam, we have no problem honoring it, but at this time there is no proof of there clam.

It was a phone order so of course I have no sales quote. I only have what was told to me over the phone. The only piece of paper I received was the invoice, on my front step, with a charge of $105 more than I was quoted. It's fairly clear you have no intention of working with me on this or being reasonable whatsoever. Is that correct?
