Transaction Date: June 22, 2022 Issue Date: May 15, 2023 Contract Amount: $56,288 Amount already paid to Contractor: $35,044 Issue: We have rehashed via text and email the same three contractual issues for the last month. These are separate from the roof having exposed and caulked over nails, as well as other issues, which put our new roof at risk of leaking. 1. After denials, misrepresentations, outright refusal and 22 days, the contractor got a county permit (9 months after the job). As this was recently turned back on us, as holding up the project over $75 ($150 after the fine), we realized that we needed intervention.2. Local permit issue.3. Main Service Panel (***) upgrade never installed. The roof was installed last July. The contractor stated in an 8/4/22 text to us that the roof was "unacceptable." Over five months passed, and ***** was unable/unwilling to find a roofer. In January, we gave him the name of the guy, who checked the roof for winterization. ***** stated in his May 15th email that he was unable to connect with him. We never stated that we needed this roofer to complete the job. We were just trying to help him find a roofer. Due to earlier project issues, we were offered discounts, neither of which have been given due consideration of late. Option 1 was that ***** would cover the cost of the *** (contract item #**). He sent an unrelated invoice and stated that this was our discount. However, this was never completed. We sent him a picture of our 20-year-old *** on 5/19. Option 2 was time and materials on the roofing part of the contract. In our latest email, we stated that this was the best, simplest option. The replacement/repair of the roof must be included in that, as this future liability is a result of his job. We would waive the *** portion of the contract and fix any local permit fees/fines.Most frustrating is that he has continuously threatened us with liens and other legal actions, even as he was lying to us.

I have been advised by my lawyer not to respond to the customer, *************************, until our dispute is over. This is now a legal matter
