5/26/24 visit to Broken Oar.*Paid cash at bar for one round of drinks, and looked for a table to watch the band. Server came up later to ask if we wanted another round of drinks. *Server asks for a credit card, we tell her we wish to pay in cash.*Server tells us it is policy at the Oar and she "promised" us that they would not run it and we can pay with cash later.*We have 3 rounds and notice other patrons paying servers with cash, and decide to leave. We ask for our check ($15.00) and she askes us "on the card or cash" and we insist again we are paying cash.*We give the server $20.00 and receive our card back.*5/27/24 looking at bank app we see $25.00 pending charge from the Oar.*Contact the Oar via their website and *********************** responds that it isn't a charge it is just to pre-authorization to run a tab. She stated it would have disappeared immediately if i had paid with a card.*Back and forth emails I pointed out how they lied about the fact I was told they would not run the card, or that i could pay in cash.*5/31/2024 the amounts are still pending in my bank and believe if this was truly the policy it would have been voided/reversed by no later than 5/29/24.
