This is in response to your BBB inquiry. Afni appreciates the opportunity to respond

On March 15, 2023, Afni received this complaint. This was Afni’s first contact with the

business affiliation with Credence Resource Management and cannot comment on
their business practices. Furthermore, the

from 0 to 60 days to update consumer credit reports. Afni has no control over how quickly the

I set up an payment plan with this company that is trying to collect a debt owed. I did so in good faith a email would be sent to me stating the payment plan was in place to pay the debt. The company proceeded to charge my debit card with no letter sent to me stating what the payment plan is or any receipt of payment made. I have made multiple phone calls to this company with little help from the service reps on the other end of the phone. Their only response is a letter was sent. When I ask for an email to be sent they say it is not possible. When I ask to speak to a manager they transfer me to a voice mail because there is never a supervisor on site. When I leave a message my call is never returned. All I asked for is a letter stating the plan is in place and how many payments need to be made emailed to me. Apparently this is too much to ask for from people who always seem to be at a computer to type in my information to pull up my account.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
The amount owed should be lowered to $1000 as agreed upon. That is why the payment is 83.33 a month for 12 months that would equal $1000. That was the agreement made. This is why I requested an email to make sure arrangements are what I agreed too before payments were removed from my bank account. I still do not I understand why the latter could be emailed to a third party(BBB) but not directly to me. That makes no sense in the world we live in today.thank you.

Account ********** was from my ****** phone line that i had closed back in 2018. In the information provided on the AFNI, INC. the date said is 2020. That information is incorrect therefore id like this whole collection account to be removed from my credit report. Also, the amount owed to ****** was nowhere near $800 and I made sure I paid it off to them because I switched carriers. Not only is this account date incorrect but also the amount owed on account is also incorrect. in 2019 i was appraoched by AFNI about a collection. originally it was for a little over $100. but was reduced (after several conversations) ultimately to about $35.00. I paid by bank withdrawl. i later recieved a letter stating they recieved payment. it was removed from my credit and i thought that was that.
in 2020 and 2021 i was approach yet again. i dont quite remember the amounts they were asking. In 2020 i sent them an email with the letter verifying that it has been closed as settled. in 2021... i ignored it feeling that AFNI was trying to extort more money out of me. I didn't recieve one for 2022 and thus forgot about it.
I recieved a new letter a few days ago from the same creditor whom i haven't returned to for a new grievance.
Attached are the two letters. The letter verifiying my case has been settled and the new collection notice.Business Response

This is in response to your BBB inquiry. Afni appreciates the opportunity to respond
to the consumer’s concerns. On October
4, 2019, ******* forwarded the subject account, ******* account #: ***************** Afni, Inc. account #: ************, with Afni for collections on
the balance of $55.71.
The account is for services established on July 1, 2016,
until ******* considered the account delinquent on June 27, 2017. The service address associated with the account
is **** ***** ******** ******* ********* ** ******** ** ****** Afni mailed the initial notice of the account
on October 7, 2019. Afni has not and
will not furnish the subject account to the credit reporting agencies. On November 8, 2019, Afni received payment
towards a discounted payment offer of $36.21 via Afni’s website from the
consumer. On November 18, 2019, Afni received notification that the payment was
returned as nonsufficient funds and the account was not closed. Afni received a dispute letter from the
consumer and in response mailed the consumer verification of the debt.
On February 21, 2023, Afni received this complaint. In response, Afni ceased communication and
initiated an investigation. Afni has attached copies of the account billing
statements to this response; these are provided as validation of the account. To address the consumer’s concerns, as
previously noted, the consumer’s payment was returned as nonsufficient funds
and the account was not closed. Per the
attached receipt the consumer provided it states that if the payment received
is later determined to be invalid, collection activities will resume, and the
balance will again be owed. As noted,
the consumer’s payment was returned, and collection activities resumed on the
account. As the consumer has requested,
Afni will no longer contact the consumer about this account. Again, Afni has not and will not furnish the
subject account to the credit reporting agencies. However, this does not mean that the account
is not due and owing, simply that Afni will not furnish the account to the
credit reporting agencies. Afni trusts
this response has addressed the consumer’s concerns, but if questions remain,
or if they would like to discuss the account, they may contact a Regulatory
Specialist at ***** *********
