In June 2024, I took my vehicle ( 2020 Land Rover) to M&R Car Imports. My initial contact person was **** *****, *** I paid a deposit of $600 to run the diagnostic and assess the issue. Sometime in ***** *** ***** was out of town for an extended period. I was also shopping around to make sure this was the best and most reasonable choice for service. I received approval from my warranty company to pay for the replacement of my engine. When I received the estimate from *** *****, it was well above the normal rate for parts, service and labor. In July I told him, I wanted to pay what I owed for any work that had been done at this point and move my car to another location. It was at this time that *** ***** stated that before he could release my vehicle, I would now have to pay up to $8,000 in storage costs. This was not mentioned at all until I decided to move my vehicle and have the work completed somewhere else. He is refusing to release my car although, I have agreed to pay for services rendered. Our initial service agreement does not mention storage nor did he communicate this requirement during any time verbally. After reviewing the Automotive Repair Act for the state of ********, I am well within my right to have my car returned upon payment of services rendered.

My car was towed by R&M towing from Lumina on 19th Apartments in *******, ** on 18 or ************************************ ******* and I live in **. The registration sticker was peeled off of the car and they said it was expired.Since I live in NM and a military and cannot get immediate leave, I cannot go get the car from impound.R&M said to send a letter authorizing my daughter to receive the car for me. Then they refused to accept the notarized letter I sent because it was not their exact required verbiage. I asked for them to provide a written template so I do not continue to get the run around of them refusing to accept my letter. They would not do so only offered to tell Me again what it needed to say over the phone. I had to get police involvement before they would discontinue holding my car hostage and then charged me for days that they refused for release my car. It should not be legal for them to hold a car hostage and still charge for additional day that they would not comply with a lawful letter allowing an authorized person to receive the vehicle. They also refused any liability for damage to the car. They take no care in what they do to other peoples property and expect to damage a car with no regard for the owner. Worst business I have ever dealt with. They charged $134 to ruin my nerves and cause me to loose two days of sleep so they could be unreasonable only to release the car when we called Glendale PD. I read the letter to the police and was told it is 100% legal and must be accepted. The company cannot hold my vehicle and to call the police to have an office there to force them to relinquish the car. If I cant get my money back at least put this business on notice for being crooked,Poorly managed and poorly treating customers. Look at the complaints on yelp. Im not the only one who has been ill used by this terrible company. They are just out to steal cars and collect fees. Not good business at all. Very dishonest! People should be warned.
