The way transmission experts conducted business. Transmission Experts lied and gave wrong information about my vehicle repairs. I pulled my truck in and signed contracts for repairs. I gave my truck to **** to get repaired. What I was told is that I can will be getting a new transmission. I applied for finance and was approved for a portion of the amount. I called into **** and told them to hold on the transmission. I spoke with the owner and told him I may need consider other options. The owner told me to wait for him to call back after he reviews my paperwork. I waited, and went in when I had time to retrieve my truck. I was told I cannot get my vehicle because it was ready for an install and was on a lift. I was misinformed as my **** pass did not state any codes popped up meaning no work was done on my truck. However I was told that I would need to pay over ***** to get my vehicle. Once I was able to get to **** with the police, the police stated even though I'm the owner of the vehicle, there is nothing they can do to get me my truck despite me being the owner. I even tried to work a payment plan with finance. However the **** wants me to pay off the amount in full. Now I am without a truck for work, and making payments while my debt is piling. I will lose my truck and all that I've worked for.Business Response

Thank you for attention to this matter. *** **** contacted our facility in regard to his 2019 **** F150 having an issue with the way it was working. We invited *** **** to bring the vehicle in for Transmission Experts free transmission diagnosis. We performed the diagnostic and upon completion the technician found that there was a malfunction within the transmission itself. *** **** was then informed of the diagnostic results, which indicated that the transmission had an internal failure, and it needed to be rebuilt or replaced. *** **** was given several options and prices, such as replacing the transmission with a **** factory new unit, or a good used transmission unit or we could rebuild it in house as we often do. At first *** **** chose the transmission to be replaced with the new **** factory unit, and he signed for it. Our understanding with *** **** was that he was applying for finance in order to pay for this service. *** **** informed us that he was approved for some of the cost, but not all of it. He returned to our shop to try to stop the repair from proceeding because he could not afford it, but his transmission was already removed a waiting on its replacement. At that time, he requested that we cancel the order of the factory unit and again gave him the previous option of either installing a good used unit or we could rebuild it in house. *** **** then authorized the in house rebuilt transmission and left the location. When the rebuilt transmission was installed and the work completed, we contacted *** **** to let him know that the work was finished. *** **** arrive at our shop with the Chicago police saying that he never authorized the work and wanted to take his vehicle without paying for. We should our paperwork to the policeman that was with *** **** who then explained to him that everything appeared to be in order and that he would have to pay for the repairs. The owner of our shop told *** **** that he was willing to work with him and that if he could pay as much as possible that *** **** could pay the balance due over a month or two and that until the balance was paid the warranty would be held back, but he could take the vehicle home. As of the writing of this email, *** **** still owes a balance of $1087.35 which is due by January 2025.

After several opinions from various mechanics throughout the city I was given a referral to Transmission Experts. I took my 2017 ****** Rogue Sport for a diagnosis on my car engine troubles in March 2022. I was told that it could be my engine and was given a various amount of tests. It was then determine that it indeed was my engine and I arranged for my engine to be replaced at Transmission Experts. They kept my car for 1 week before it was given back to me with a refurbished engine. In July of 2022, I noticed that my air conditioner wasn't blowing as cold as usual. I then take my car to be diagnosed by another facility who specialized in ** repair. After several weeks of tests and inconsistent results I was then told that my ** compressor was bad after my bumper had been disassembled by that mechanic. They suggested that whomever replaced my engine may have mishandled the compressor which would have caused it to go bad so early. I was told to take it back to Transmission Experts and tell them about my issue. On August 5th 2022, I took my car in to be looked at my Transmission Experts and told them about my issue from the previous mechanic. My car was tested and indeed the ** compressor was bad. I asked if all my parts were replaced and they told me no, only the engine. The only other part that was replaced was the motor. I reassured them that my ** was working properly before the engine was replaced and that it may have been a mishap on their end. They disagreed and I called my previous mechanic who also agreed that the ** compressor was mishandled or debris had gotten inside during the engine swap. I had had previous 4 tests ran at Transmission Experts before the engine had been replaced and the ** compressor showed no signs of any problems.Business Response

We are sorry to hear that ************** is having issues with the air conditioning in her ******* but the air conditioner is not part of the engine replacement service on any vehicle. The information she received is false and erroneous. ************** did return to us with the same complaint, and we diagnose her vehicle at no charge and explained what was needed to repair her air conditioning and was given an estimate of which she declined to have done. We would be willing to honor the estimate, but will not settled this unjustified complaint with any moneys paid to ***************

I am rejecting this response because: I am aware that the ** compressor was not related to the engine replacement. But, My ** was working properly before any work was done by Transmission Experts. Transmission Experts has provide me with several free diagnosis's in the past of needed repairs and each print out of that diagnosis did not show any issues with my ** compressor. I have had additional mechanics look at my vehicle as well as dismantle the bumper in order to proper diagnose my ** issue and they have all agreed that my compressor would not have went out this soon unless it had been mishandled during the replacement of my engine. I can offer proper documentation from those licensed and BBB accredited mechanics whom personally looked at my ** compressor and believed that it was mishandled. I wasn't given any estimate regarding any new repairs to my vehicle by Transmission Experts because they believed I had made false claims. I even offered to have them talk to my mechanic over the phone in which they refused. I do not nor will I ever trust Transmission Experts to service any new repairs on my vehicle. I would like my current mechanic to make any necessary repairs to my vehicle and at the expense of Transmission Experts.
Sincerely,
