*** the supervisor is horribly condescending and took no ownership over the experience we had with Nicor. I had been gone from my house for 2 months and received a really high bill during this time. I called while still in the other state and talked to them about there being meter problems or a gas leak. They stated a technician would be dispatched to the property and I would be called.Flash forward a week later, I called again after not hearing from them and was told someone had been out to check the property and everything was fine.I arrived at the property, smelled gas, called and had a technician come out who disabled several appliances that had dangerous leaks including along my driveway.Calling them about the bill, they told me no one had been out to the property prior to when I was at the property the last time. They told us "sorry you feel that way" when we expressed they didn't show any concern over the gas leaks and that they hadn't communicated with us. *** repeatedly asked my sister not to yell when she was speaking to him about the problems their company caused - like putting an entire community at risk by not checking the presence of a gas leak when reported. No actions were taken to address our concerns and he didn't feel the company had done anything wrong at all. Nicor doesn't care if there's a gas leak; they state it's your responsibility as the home owner to care for it, apparently even when the home owner has already tried to report it. Don't use them, they're incredibly incompetent and rude.

Nicor Gas - autopay system flawed. have attemped numerous times to add credit card for autopay and have received emails stating auto pay has been cancelled. Each time we check the credit card info is correct.

So imagine you're me:I'm at work. It's a Tuesday at around 9 am - people work, right? I get a call from my wife who has taken our oldest daughter to the doctor. She's flustered: apparently, two Nicor employees showed up to our house DEMANDING our babysitter let them in to complete gas work. Being the only one home with an infant and NOT the owner of the residence, the babysitter refused. Here's where it gets fun.The employee apparently threatened to CUT OFF THE *** if our babysitter did not comply. Our babysitter told me that she said, "I don't think you're allowed to do that." To which the employee apparently responded, "Yes I can!" After going to talk with their supervisor, the employees informed the babysitter (who I again remind you was NOT the owner of the residence) that I (the homeowner, who was at work during this escapade) had two days to make an appointment or they would shut off my gas. Not for non-payment, mind you, but for a meter exchange.Guys. I'm not trying to be funny here: you're Nicor employees, not cops. Running around threatening to cut off my gas and heat (when the temps are now getting into the 40s at night) when I've got two little kids at home is... well, let's just say I'm not pleased with the service. Those tags you put on my door? No mention of cutting of the gas for non-compliance. Nor do they give a timeframe this needed to be completed by. So not even three weeks go by past a flyer that says call us at my "earliest convenience" before two dudes show up to threaten my babysitter? Get your stuff together, Nicor. Seriously.
