    On June 3, 2024 I contacted Northern Illinois T.V. and spoke to ****. My security camera system was still having the same issue. (blue screen) On or about May 29, 2024 ***** and a new employee came to fix this issue. ***** moved wires in the back and the picture came up on the screen. ***** replaced a connector saying he was doing this as a precaution. Nothing more was said about this issue. I received a bill from Northern Illinois T.V. for $65.00. On June 3 I spoke to **** saying the issue had returned and I felt the new wires might be the issue. She said they could return. I then questioned the bill and **** said she'd have *** (owner) contact me. He did return a phone call. During this call I said I felt the new wires he had installed might be the issue as when the cabinet was moved or I dusted under the "box" the screen would turn blue. *** said the new wires were thicker and being in the cabinet was an issue. I responded that i had not been informed about this before. He said "I have been doing this for 46 years and knew what your response would be. It's been in the cabinet and not done this before." Referring to the bill he said "it worked when we left". He said return visits I have to pay for. I feel *** intentionally withheld information I need to make a good choice. (it could have been moved to a different location) History: I had an addition built (end of 2023) and used ***'s strategy for moving t.v system and security system which required numerous visits. Issues during this include leaving wires hanging at the top of the doorway so the door would not open. A cable was not moved so the new floor could be installed and the contractor had to do this. Both instances required me to pay others due to Northern Illinois TV not completing the job. I informed *** about these issues.

    *** was told when she started the addition /re-modal that we would be working time and materials. We would bill her for work performed as we go. She repeatedly asked what was included. She was told that nothing was included as this was not a bid job and we dont know how many times your contractor will require us to be there. Any moving of wires done by her contractor would have saved her money as it saved us a trip to her house. Now that the project is complete she is asking for free service on a 6 year old  surveillance camera system.  It seems this is a situation that the customer has run out of money but wants more work done. As far as i am concerned the existing unpaid bill stands and we will no longer work for her.

    I am rejecting this response because *** knowingly installed new wires and connectors that did not have a good fit to the box in the cabinet. He knew this would cause a return visit and therefore he could generate a bill for his financial gain. He intentionally did not inform me of the box/cabinet issue and therefore I should not be held responsible for the $65.00 bill.

    ***'s work was not quality by leaving wires hanging in a doorway so the door would not open or close, and not moving a cable wire which he had been employed to move.

    I consider ***'s statement reference my finances, which he has no knowledge of, to me malicious slander meant to harm me for filing this complaint.

    I attempted to resolve the issue before filling this complaint by speaking to ***.

    We pride ourselves on our workmanship and reputation which has been hard earned through years of hard work and quality service. *** has been a repeat customer for the last 6 years.  Obviously, she wouldn't have been a repeat customer if our workmanship was substandard. This is clearly a failure on her part to understand that time and materials means time and materials. At this point, we will not offer our services to her again and will waive her final bill if she agrees to never contact us again.
