On Jul 4-6 2022 I opened a secure credit card with Discover to help build my credit, and was approved on the application. The very next day I contacted the chat and Indicated I made a mistake on the address. I accidentally put the wrong street number, same numbers just incorrect order, the street name, city and zip code was all correct. I was advised wait until the application was approved and the deposit was received and the change of address issue will be simple. On July 6 2022 $200 was pulled from my bank for a secured deposit. I then again proceeded to call and told them If I cannot change the address on the form my neighbors down the road to my address then I would want back my money. They indicated that refunds are only given by check and that check would be sent to the address on the application. I further got upset because 1. I am not getting the service, 2. my money was taken, 3. I could not get a refund as they told me the money that came out of my bank can only be sent to an incorrect address. As a result of Discover to help me and after talking to supervisors I had to contact my bank. I told the bank discover refuses to provide a service for me and i cannot get my money back. This was unfair and I would like my money back. The money was pulled on July 14 2022 I received back my money. In all this process I gave up on discover and was trying to gain another credit card a secured one to build my credit. and because of the fact that discover failed to help me change my account, refunded to give me a refund that would actually go to me and had me applying for their credit card multiple times as the indicated I have the go head has lead to multiple credit card attempts on my report, 2. a closed account on my account even though I have never got a chance to use it. I approached discover to try and build my credit and my experience with them has led to me being worst off and now unable to get any credit card no time soon from any other company.Business Response

I'm not sure if discover bank is an actual bank. I was sent a letter from them stating I needed to deposit money or they close account stated it was open online when I stayed I didn't have an account. With no previous communications, Discover cancelled my credit line completely. I had worked EXTREMELY hard to fix my credit over the years, and this was one of my longest tenured credit accounts. I had a $10,000 limit with a $0 balance. Within the past year, I communicated multiple times to be sent a new credit card, since the old one had expired. They never sent me a new card. Instead, they cancelled my account altogether! This had a MAJOR negative impact on my overall credit score, drastically impacting my overall utilization. The fact that this was done with NO communication, despite how hard I had been working on improving my credit for so many years, is beyond frustrating. It should be illegal for credit card providers to do things like this, as consumers are POWERLESS to have any type of say, or influence, over the matter. Meanwhile, my credit is taking a HUGE hit, dropping many points, which will have a major influence over future approvals, interest rates, etc.Business Response

Bank keeps verifying incorrect information on my credit reports. The details are incorrect and I have NEVER lived in the *****************. Once I submitted disputes with the credit reporting agencies, they updated my incorrect information to include my actual address to match their incorrect trade line.It is my right to have correct information on my credit reports. I have opened *** account with Discover Bank on line. They sent me application package by mail. It was not clear which forms I have to fill in, I called the bank and was provided assistance. While on the phone with *** agent I asked her how I submit my funds after the *** account would be opened. She said either by check of we would call you to get your banking information over the phone. Nobody called me. On August 15, 2022 I went to my checking account with ***** Fargo to find out that my account, where only SSI check is deposited for $2963.00, Discover bank drawn my checking account for $7000.00 that put me in overdraft. I immediately contacted the Discover Bank, connected to *** supervisor by name *** and explained her all situation and asked to immediate assistance. She assured me than this problem will be her first priority and the money will be returned to ***** Fargo in two business days, It was a deception because no money has been returned to ***** Fargo in two business days. I have placed several calls to Discover Bank after that, no truth is coming out from their agent when the money will be returned to ***** Fargo.Business Response

I closed my Discover Secure Credit Card on on June 1st and was told to wait 2 billing cycles plus 2 weeks to receive my $500 deposit I placed when opening the card. I waited and received no check so I contacted a chat agent on the Discover website who originally told me that a check was sent and then walked back and apologized and said he was incorrect and that I picked the option to have it wired to my bank account and the wire wasn't sent. He then told me to wait 10 calendar days to have the $500 wired. I waited 10 days and still didn't receive the money. I would like my $500 wired to me ASAP. Actually, my issue is not a complaint but a request, to be able to get Discover Financial to allow me to work with them to pay off an all debt for a Discover Credit Card. A long story short, after IHSS Gubernatorial Tort, my finances collapsed, after two months of our payments not paid, unlawfully, just because I moved here to my *******, ** purchased house, at the time my credit score was 781! And with such incident all my creditors shut me down, after being a loyal customer for many years. I then paid 4 companies so called credit score fixer uppers and consolidating my finances, NOT! They just took my money but didn't do much. I then last week decided to work with my creditors directly on my own. I just dealt with one bank yesterday and they accepted me on a 12-month payment plan. But now I'm trying to see if Discover will work with me. I'm unable to contact them via website or email or phone call. Understandably, if Discover refuses to deal with me. But I can assure you that I would like to pay Discover in full. I can pay $186 a month for 12 months and will be paid in full. But I would be so grateful if Discover grants me the opportunity to work with me and pay Discover off, fully. I'm so sorry for what has happened, but I can assure you that I'm a victim and not a risk. It has been quite humbling and embarrassing to find myself in a situation I'm in. I would beg Discover if necessary so I can pay Discover off. I don't want to negotiate a partial settlement but a full pay off, in 12 months, please! I would be so grateful for Discover to allow me to pay my balance fully. Thank you so much for your help!Business Response

Discover Bank closed and froze both my checking and savings accounts on Wednesday 8/17 stating it was a business decision and are refusing to send my money back to me for 60 days. They also held up my paycheck that was supposed to be deposited on 8/19. This has financially wiped me out with the exception of about $200 I had left in my previous bank account (had just started the process of moving my accounts over about 3 weeks ago). They wont allow me access to my bank statements either so not able to provide proof of current balances, but have included screen shots of my regions Bank transactions showing 2 transfers to discover bank. Also attaching copy of check that was deposited in my Discover account via mobile deposit.In reading Discovers social media page, this is a common practice for this bank.The bank address listed on emails from Discover shows they are in **** but I couldnt find a **** address in the search function on this site.Business Response

Credit ****************** are 3rd party non affiliate. - Provide me signed documents that you have explained to me that i have the option to OPT OUT reporting of this account in my consumer credit file.2. This account should not be reported in my consumer credit file. Accounts included in Bankruptcy shouldn't be on my credit consumer report. This is a serious breach of my privacy rights.3. Stayed at ************************* and was charged $209 for parking, room fees, and a movie rental. I was never advised as to possible fees, never parked with the hotel, and never advised the cahrge was being made. Filed a dispute with Discover Card and stated they could not reverse the fees besause they have a relationship with the hotel and since I stayed with them I was responsible for the charges even if I never incurred them.Business Response
