Pattern of Complaints

BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints regarding consumers alleging that they paid Resort Release to exit their timeshare contracts but the services were not completed. On 8/7/19 and 8/19/19, BBB submitted a written request to the company encouraging them to address the pattern of complaints.

As of 8/30/19, BBB has had no response.

In September 2019, the BBB investigated business practices of
Resort Release as prompted by numerous unanswered complaints and consumer
inquiries received within a few month period. Review of information determined a pattern of
complaint regarding consumers alleging that they paid Resort Release to exit
their timeshare contracts, but the services were not completed. Further,
consumers alleged that they were unable to reach Resort Release for update or
to obtain additional information on the status of their contract. On
multiple occasions the BBB attempted to contact by phone and also submitted
written request to the company encouraging them to address the pattern of
complaints and received no response. Although the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing
allows the business to continue to operate, the BBB is unable to confirm
whether Resort Release is currently operating.

Bankruptcy

On 04/09/2019, the business filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the federal Bankruptcy Act, case# 0:19-bk-14605 . This permits the business to continue to operate with court supervision while developing a plan of reorganization. Those with monetary claims against the business are advised to obtain a Proof of Claim form by writing to Florida Southern Bankruptcy Court 299 East Broward Blvd., Room 112 Ft. Lauderdale FL 33301 for resubmission to that court.
The case number should be entered on the form. Claims must be submitted by 08/05/2019
