I called the company to get a tow on 6/9/25, we were going from ************** to ***************** with a ***** Civic that was running. The company quoted us $125 plus per mile. This total shouldve been about $217 which is OK a littlehigh but doable. Then the guy gets their hooks my car up and tells me its $390 and that if I dont pay it, theyre going to impound my car if I dont pay the full 390. I have never felt so scammed in my life. This was a 20 mile trip and it was a $400 tow. This company should be ashamedof themselves for their practices.

I got a flat tire in a residential area of ************* IL around 1230pm on 6/1/25. I called Speedy G Towing who agreed to have someone come out to my location and help me change my tire (USING MY OWN SPARE TIRE AND PARTS). They refused to tell me the price of this service over the phone AND when the man arrived. The man kept saying "I dont know, Ill have to call them (the company, presumably) and check. He changed my tire within about 2 minutes. He then brought me his phone and presented a screenshot highlighting that this would be $250, and that I must pay him before I could leave. I have done significant research since this event, including speaking with numerous auto repair shops, mechanics, and other towing companies who all report that this price for the simple service of putting my own spare tire on my car, using my own parts to change the tire, is absolutely absurd. The man that changed my tire had me Zelle the money to the company, allegedly. When I reverse-searched the phone number, the number was his personal cell phone, and not the company. I even called Speedy G this morning (6/2/25) and they told me that they dont even have a location in ************* and do not send employees on trips out there. Additionally, the worker made me feel extremely uncomfortable by leaning into my driver's side window, asking me if I am single or married, asking me for my social media, etc. This was very unprofessional service and I had ZERO opportunity to dispute the $250 charge or even talk to anyone about the price for the service. I have not been able to contact anyone from Speedy G today regarding the situation yesterday, apart from one person who told me that they do not have a downers grove location. I am in need of urgent assistance on this, as I cannot afford the $250 charge AND buy a new tire, but had no other choice since I was not told the cost until after the service was complete. Please help.

On 5/26/25 I called Speedy G Towing and the dispatcher gave a quote of $125 for hookup plus $4 per mile. I was 11 miles from the garage so estimated the total to be about $169. A minute or after my car was on the tow truck and we were on the road I mentioned we're about 11 miles away. The driver said, "They told you about mileage, right". I said, "Yes, $4 per mile.". "We count from our shop to here, to the garage, and back to the shop.". "How far is that?, I asked. He didn't give mileage but just said $375. "Absolutely not......pull over and unhook my car.". He refused. "Are you just going to steal, or impound my car if I don't pay?". He shrugged and smiled. I called the dispatcher (same guy) and he told me the distance charged is 40 miles. I pointed out that that just comes to $160.....he then said that there's a fuel surplus charge of $75 ...(which still doesn't get to their mythical total of $375). He couldn't explain why he omitted this info during the quote. He hung up on me. The driver refused to give me his name so I took a picture of him. He asked why, and I told him for Small Claims Court. We got to our destination. A friend I had called was waiting for me with $100 dollars I needed at the garage. I paid the driver the $375. He gave me a receipt, unhooked the car and ******* fault for not being patient when I needed a tow.....later, looking at the reviews, it was clear that this is their common technique of their unethical practice.

On May 27, 2025 I called this company to have my car towed a quarter mile. They quoted me $125 for pickup and $4 a mile. They never mentioned I had to pay for the driver's round trip. My total after tax came to $314.00 because they also charge a fee for using credit/debit cards. Then I was told if I didn't pay the $314 that they would impound my car which would cost me even more!

On April 21, 2025, we hired Speedy G Towing to tow our disabled semi-truck (#***) and trailer (#******) from ******, ** to our yard in ***********, **. Our dispatcher confirmed a rate of $250/hour on the phone (we have this call recorded). The tow truck arrived at 10:37 AM and completed delivery by 12:00 PMapproximately 1.5 hours of ************************* 12:12 PM, we received an invoice for $4,350. At 2:21 PM, it was increased to $5,250. Both invoices falsely list 5 hours of service per unit, plus inflated and unauthorized charges such as fuel surcharge, double-pick, air supply line, cage brakes, and driveshaft removal/installnone of which were discussed or approved. When I attempted to resolve the matter, the driver became hostile and refused to speak. I contacted the ******************* who said it was a civil matter. I later visited their listed address in ****************, which was vacant. They later admitted their actual office is in ***********Multiple attempts to speak with a supervisor were denied by Speedy G staff. We sent a formal demand letter through our attorney requesting release of our truck and correction of the invoice, but they have not responded.Public records show Speedy G has a pattern of predatory billing, false invoicing, and refusal to release equipment without payment. We believe this is a deliberate scam tactic and request BBB intervention.Relief sought: Immediate release of our truck and trailer, removal of unauthorized charges, and enforcement of the agreed rate of $250/hour. Total fair charge should be $500$750. We also request investigation into this companys abusive practices.

This happened on 4/22/2025 for the amount of $370.00 THE WORST ****************** I would give them zero stars if I could. We called and asked for pricing and they said it would be $135. They never mentioned additional fees. When we arrived to our destination, they charged us $375 and they damaged our car. I called back that same day and asked for a separate quote (to test them), and they said they didn't go to ****** or surrounding suburbs and that is a lie because they went to *********** that day to pick up our car. Our insurance company said they should not be charging for fuel and that a few of those charges were illegal. I was advised to report them to the Secretary of State, the **************************** (***) and Better Business Bureau (BBB). They are a scam. They did not try to resolve anything and refused to talk to my insurance company.

Tiberius ******** *****?*********************************************************************************************** **************?************************************** Date: 04/22/2025 Subject: Formal Complaint Against Speedy G Towing ****************, ** I am writing to formally file a consumer complaint against Speedy G Towing, located in ****************, ********, regarding a deeply troubling experience that I believe constitutes predatory and unethical business practices. On March 20, 2025, I requested a towing service for my truck. I was informed by Speedy G Towing that the cost would be $250 per hour, and I agreed to these terms based on a simple tow of approximately 9 miles. However, when the tow was completed, I was shocked to be charged $1,574.56, an amount that was never disclosed or justified at the outset.I attempted to dispute the charge, but the driver became aggressive and threatening, stating plainly that my vehicle would not be released unless I paid the full amount immediately. I was not provided an invoice or a receipt at the time of payment, and I felt intimidated and coerced into paying under duress.Only after repeated follow-up calls did I receive a written invoice, which clearly shows that I was charged for travel time, failed hookup attempts (which were due to their drivers inexperience), and additional unexplained fees. These details were never mentioned in the initial agreement or disclosed in advance. This type of behaviormisrepresenting service costs, inflating charges post-service, withholding documentation, and using threats to force immediate paymentshould not be tolerated in any consumer market.I am requesting that your office investigate this business for deceptive billing practices, lack of transparency, failure to provide timely receipts, and the use of threats and coercion against ****************** Information:?**********************?********************************************************************?Phone: ************

Speedy g towing has multiple fraudulent reviews with many people claiming grossly large towing bills. The operator refused to tell me my tow cost until after he dropped my motorcycle off at home. The cost was $595 And he wouldn't drop my bike until paid. The fact that they would not tell me price until bike was dropped reveals there fraudulent scams. My tow was 7 miles from ******* il, to ************ il. There is no way a tow should ever cost that much.

This happened on April 4th at around noon, we called to inquire about prices and they quoted us $290 per hour. We needed to be towed about 45 minutes from the location we were in. When we got here, they charged us three times the amount that we were quoted and when we called them to question the price, they said that they had driven us two and a half hours which is untrue and that these were the rules and policies of their company. They then proceeded to rudely hang up the phone. We called again and they said we already told you these are the rules and hung up again. It was a pressing matter, so we didnt have time to look at the reviews. Looking back at them now many people have said that the same thing had happened to them. I called a couple more times and I am just being told I need to speak to a manager and I need to call back tomorrow and then again they hang up. I would really like some assistance in resolving this issue. I have the receipt of what was paid and there is no time frame on what the basis of the charges were.
