BAIT AND SWITCH!GOOD: driver was friendly and efficient.BAD: when I first called for a tow I was quoted $135 total (hook plus miles) which I verbally confirmed before giving them the OK to come out. Once we get to the shop the cost per mile dropped but they charged from their location and said it was $228 . Give them my card since my options are pretty limited at that point and it gets charged for $243.Initial Complaint

Speedy Gs Towing, Tells you they will charge you 95$ to hook up your vehical and $4 per mile. When you tell them where the vehical is and where its going. They say the same thing again. Only adding it depends where your vehical is. After they pick up your vehical and its in trancet they call you to give you an inflated price. telling you they need to add all the mileage they drove to get to your vehical. I see complant after complant on line about the same thing. My tow was for 7.8 miles a $95 dollar hook up and 8 miles only comes to $127.00 Not $264.74 There doing this consistently to everyone.Initial Complaint

On 8-7-2023, I needed a tow from ********* located at ********************************************************************** to my home at *********************************************************** because my car wouldnt start. When I called Speedy G Towing at ************, they only asked where I was, never asked where I needed to go. The tow truck shiwed up about 30 minutes later, I asked him how much it was going to be, and he just danced around the question, not giving me an answer. As soon as he had my car on the tow truck, I had no choice but to go along with it. It was 1.5 miles to my destination, let me say that again, it was 1.5 miles to my destination. When we were in the tow truck (the driver did allow me to ride with him), I asked again how much it was going to cost. He said there are different prices, and we do charge from our home base. If there home base was located at ******************************************************************************************** that would have been 3.5 miles from my destination. So, from their base to ********* would be 5 miles and then to my house 1.5 miles and back to their home base another 3.5 miles, totals 10 miles. He charged me $295.00 for the tow when we got to my house. He insisted I pay him through Zelle (which I did through our company ********** ***** debit card and he said he would text me the receipt. I never got the receipt. I called them and the guy that answered was very rude when I said why I was calling. He told me he would let so and so know and that person would call me back. I never received a call back from them. I feel like they ***** the customer because once your vehicle is on their tow truck, you have no choice but to pay the fee or they will take your vehicle away to their impound yard. I had my vehicle towed two days prior by another company that had to tow it farther and they only charged $170.00. I should have read the reviews of Speedy G Towing before I made that call, but I didnt. I want half (1/2) the money back for the tow as I feel this is more than fair.Initial Complaint

I contacted this company to tow a semi-truck and a loaded trailer for 46 miles towing distance to a repair shop in state of IL and got an arrival quote of 600 USD and 259 USD for additional hours to complete the job. They have an established scheme of scamming an inflating price where everything unwinds at the end of the job you are given a completely different quote and it is either take it or they take your equipment to their impound lot approach. Within their scheme of scam, employees collect your ID, make you sign an empty invoice, stay true on the called in quote, and make you feel comfortable. At the end of job same employe shows you another bill that is hourly 595 USD and unidentified works done which you can not relate on the employee's cell phone. You are taken advantage of your circumstances and take the big bill on your card so they drop your equipment. Please look at their online reviews and BBB reviews. These people are criminals hiding behind towing business. **************************************************************************************************************************************************************. I was expecting **** USD job which was computed and granted for the job and they bumped it to ************************************ refunded.Initial Complaint

My adult daughter was driving our 2014 Kia ******* downtown on the afternoon of July 17th. The check engine lights went on and they went off the highway to a ********* parking lot where the car died. I called towing services and was quoted at $250-$350. Speedy Towing could send someone right away and quoted me on the phone at $95 for hookup and $4 per mile. The distance to our home was 17 miles and the distance from their ********** office was 22 miles. **** adds up to 39 miles multiply by $4 for $156 plus the $95 for $251 (didn't ask about taxes). When the tow was finished, the price was $400! I was told there was an $89 fuel charge and $25 convenience fee on top of the cost. The driver said I could call the next day since it was after 7pm. He said I could have a receipt emailed to me. I was emailed but not itemized which is what I had requested. I called the following 4 days and each time was told billing had either already left or hadn't arrived as the office times kept changing. To date, no one has returned my calls or emails. The $4 per mile should cover fuel and driver cost. And there has been no explanation on how a 39 miles trip would cost $89 in fuel given that it would equated to less than $30 for a vehicle that gets about 6 miles per gallon. However you look at it, I was overcharged and they were dishonest about the up front costs.Initial Complaint

On May 26, 2023 I ended up on the side of the road with two flat tires. I looked up towing services near me online and Speedy G came up first so I called them. When you're in an emergency situation on the side of the road, you don't take the time to comparison shop for a reputable towing company. The dispatcher rushed me through the call to get the tow on the books. I now know that they do that because their cancelation policy reads as follows, "Once service has been ordered there are no cancellations or refunds. A cancellation fee will be charged in the amount of 100% of the quoted service fee." Which means that once they get the tow on the books, you're on the hook for the bill. But they never even gave me a quote. I asked for the rates when I first called, but the dispatcher ignored my question. So I asked again, and he told me he didn't know because he didn't know where my car would be towed. But they don't even tell you the BASE RATES. The $195 hookup fee. The $4.00/mile fee. The $69 fuel surcharge fee. A convenience fee of $26.19 (?!? WHAT CONVENIENCE ?!?). Plus the fact that you have to pay per mile for the tow truck to drive TO YOU, and you have no idea where they're coming from. They charged me $415 to tow my car 4 MILES!!! The dispatcher lied about how far away the truck was. I had to call him repeatedly, and every single time he lied about how long it would be. I tried multiple times to contact the manager, but he is NEVER available. I was told his name is ****, but it's impossible to reach him and everyone else says they can't help you and you have to talk to ****. This company is criminal, unethical, and should be shut down. There are countless stories EXACTLY like mine. Somebody needs to do something about it. They are breaking the law (not giving an estimate before a tow) and they're taking advantage of people in desperate situations.Initial Complaint

Transaction date 6/23/2023 ************ quoted us $295./hour and estimated the job taking 3-4 hours. They ended up taking our truck to their yard and demanding $6800. before releasing it. If you do any search on this company you will see that this is how they do business. More complaints than I can list here. 100% crooks.
