I am a car dealer (small business) I have a very hard time dealing with IAA auction 1. charged very high fees with disgusting service in branch, calls (please try to call customer service -wait for more than an hour, I dont know these crazy fees they charged for what reason) 2. I bought serval cars with damage and missing parts than the pictures of the online sale, repot them to the (very busy branch) but no solving or refund issued. they charge away higher than any place in the world with the worse service. Each car almost total of $ 700 to $1000 fees only 3. for their charge no mercy but for buyer like me no help and refund or reimbursement. I wonder if you could support me with these issues A. recent purchase, the car came to me with no pumper (including lights and chest) the pumper was in picture. Talked with the receptionist she said they can't find it. I need reimbursement for this B. another car has a pumper was attached in pictures, but they brought it to me damage and separated from the vehicle. I sold my 2015 kia ******* for ***** on November 23. I tried to cash it today and it won't let me do it. I'm mad I need the money an everyone I call is giving me the run around and the bank is saying the account doesn't exist.Business Response

I paid a fee to bid on vehicles online from IAA unbeknownst to me there are additional fees which have to be paid once auction is completed. These extra fees were not mentioned when I initially signed up for the auctions. I consequently won a vehicle but by the time the extra fees were added the vehicle was no longer a bargain. I contacted IAA on multiple occasions to no avail, after complaining I was no longer able to bid or buy anything. I paid 200 dollars to be able to bid/but salvage vehicles. Thank you for your email. Sorry to hear of your confusion, we always explain the rules if you signed up though our ************* registration department. Also, you could have read the IAA Auction rules which stat the following: Fees - A Buyer Fee will be charged for each vehicle sold. Other fees may also apply. Fees may vary by Facility. It is the sole responsibility of Buyer to verify fees charged by any IAA Facility prior to incurring such charges. All fees are subject to change and Buyer shall confirm the applicable fee before incurring such charges. Because You bided and won a vehicle, we cannot refund your registration fee. You can cancel your account if you wish or get updated and read the auction rules which may make your account better to understand.

IAA charged a $200 annual renewal fee to my credit card without any warning or invoice. I did not knowingly request an "automatic" annual renewal. They offered me a free account. They emailed me (on a Saturday) informing me that they had charged my credit card on-file. That same day, the *** that the renewal was "due" I tired to cancel this payment, which I did not knowingly authorize, and they did not respond, nor did they "allow" me to use their chat function. They claimed that I was not able to supply the proper credentials to do so. I have entered a dispute with my bank against this charge. I have entered a complaint in their on-line system (a week ago) and they have not replied beyond an automatically generated email that states they will get back to me - which they have not. Also, when I tried to delete my credit card info from their web site, they would not allow me to do so stating that the account was needed to process their payment. I also tried to change my account to NOT have "automatic" renewal, and their web site would not allow that EITHER. I am concerned that they are stealing from many other people as well. On 05 Oct 2022 I was in a single car accident. My car left the roadway and made contact with a roadside reflector post (the green ones that are shaped like a U, 1/16 steel about 4 in total with that stand about 5 high on the side of the road). My RR quarter panel has some damage & the plastic bumper cover is going to need to be replaced. I brought the car to Maacco located in the ****************** center. They quoted the repairs at $6500. Because USAAs app froze it took 9+ days to get in touch with an adjuster. When I did contact an adjuster he was advising me to have the vehicle towed to their facility to have their guy look at it. He was being pushy about it and I didnt like the idea but I trusted USAA to be doing the right thing. Their guy was at IAA and its not a repair, Its an auto auction. I was told I had a day to get anything from my vehicle, but a few hours later my car was gone. Fortunately, I spoke with a friend about what was going on and he was aware of the shenanigans they pull and told me they were gonna try to steal my car. The next morning (Thursday) at 7AM I was on the phone with USAA telling them I wanted my car out of there. It took IAA till Monday evening to have my car back to me with the front valence destroyed, the drivers window was left wide open and my drivers seat & entire floor is soaked, and the electric motor on my seat adjustment is no longer working. Additionally Ive got a significant amount of property missing. Not all of it, most of it was thrown in the truck without regard, but anything that and any value is gone. Some notable items are a tube of 1toz silver buffalos, my blue point set, and every piece of loose change, roughly 5lbs of post **** dimes and quarters (I save the ******* and pennies for their metal value) Additionally, although the first shop was able to do the job at $6,500 these guys quoted the job at $16,500.Business Response

We are glad to hear you are ok after that accident. As far as your vehicle, we only receive them when the insurance companies we are contracted with give/send them to us so we will never try to just take someone's vehicle. The items that you have stated were missing from your car I will need the Branch it was at and the vin number so I can reach out to that branch and have them look at the tapes of the vehicle check in process which will show if someone did or didn't remove anything from your car.

We purchased a crankshaft from one of your partnership company. The crankshaft was shipped by *** and delivered to our house. Advertised a running vehicle and no accidents. I wire transferred 2 payments within one day of each other for the total amount. Upon verification from Ridesafetly via Iaai auto auction, I was told I was clear to go pick up my vehicle and sent all documentation. I asked while on the phone with company, is there anything else I need to do Im booking a flight for my friend today to go retrieve the car and DRIVE it back. I asked this several times including email. I was told I was clear and yes car could be driven from location. So I booked a one way flight , paid for Uber 33 minutes, upon arriving at the ************* location my friend was laughed at and told she wasnt driving the car anywhere. So stuck in a town in middle of nowhere, no luggage , no vehicle, no place to stay, I had to call back Uber to take her to near by ************ her down, but needed supplies, wait until am to figure out why.. missed my 2 nd day of work, went to dmv, went *************** as to why this was happening. They stated they did receive 2nd wire which it clearly stated on their website and banks it takes few day but they had already accepted both payments with confirmation numbers and knew it was processing. Still refused to hand over car and now stated she couldnt drive it but had to tow it. So another day another plane ticket back another Uber charge, and then to be threatened by the auction yard as to a limited time frame or else. So another day of work missed figuring out the issue and by this time the wire had cleared as stated time frame. Reminder, vehicle stayed on the lot. It states also on website that you have 4 days courtesy storage then 40$ a day charges begin. That was Wednesday vehicle was paid for on September 28,2022 so storage would start Monday October 2, 2022. During the weekend I talked to 100 different auto transport companies which was a whole other nightmare. Finally landing on a company Sunday , it was another $680 to bring vehicle to my home. MADE MY FIRST PURCHASE WITH THIS COMPANY ON NOVEMBER 7. I LATER DECIDED I DIDN'T WANT THE VEHICLE DUE TO MANY HIDDEN FEES AFTER THE PURCHASE. THIS COMPANY CHARGES AN ANNUAL BIDDING FEE OF $200.00 SO I DIDN'T THINK THERE WOULD BE ADDITIONAL BUYERS FEES ON A PURCHASE. I CALLED THE COMPANY TO ASK WHAT THE PENALTY WOULD BE TO RENEGE ON THE PURCHASE. THE WOMAN I SPOKE TO ON PHONE WAS HARD TO UNDERSTAND. HER ENGLISH SPEAKING WASN'T GREAT. I MISUNDERSTOOD HER WHEN SHE SAID WHAT THE PENALTY WOULD BE. I UNDERSTOOD THAT THE PENALTY WOULD BE 15% OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OR $1000.00, WHICHEVER IS LESS. I ASKED SEVERAL TIMES IF IT WAS ONLY THE 15% THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY AND SHE SAID YES. SO I SAID TO GO AHEAD AND CANCEL THE PURCHASE. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT I WAS MISTAKEN OR MIS INFORMED. THE PENALTY FEE WAS IN FACT $1000.00. THE VEHICLE THAT I PURCHASED WAS PRICED $850.00 SO WHY WOULD I EVER CANCEL THE BUY IF I KNEW THE PENALTY FEE WAS GREATER THAN THE PURCHASE PRICE? I SPENT MOST OF THE *** ON NOVEMBER 14 ON HOLD AND LEAVING MESSAGES WITH THE COMPANY ASKING THEM TO HELP ME RESOLVE THIS MISTAKE. I ALSO NOTICED THIS VEHICLE WAS STILL AVAILABLE TO BE PURCHASED FOR $850.00 ON THE WEBSITE SO I ASKED IF I COULD JUST GO AHEAD WITH THE PURCHASE INSTEAD OF PAYING THE PENALTY. EVERY PERSON I SPOKE WITH WERE COMPLETELY INCONSIDERATE AND WOULD NOT HELP ME REVERSE THIS MISTAKE. THEY INFORMED ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO HELP ME. I TOLD THEM THIS WAS MY FIRST PURCHASE AND I AM A SMALL BUSINESS THAT CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY A PENALTY LIKE THIS AND NOT RECEIVE A VEHICLE. I bought a 2020 cadillac xt4 at this 516-******* auction on 8/04/2022. Sale Item # A*****. My buyer # is ******. Vehicle stock # ***-33498307. VIN#*****************. I paid $12,250.00 for the vehicle excluding all the extra charges attached. I was charged a sales tax of $796.08 which I did not approve and did not know that I was being charged for this since I live in ********. I want to know how I can get this money that they charged me for sales tax in ******** since I live in ******** refunded. I know that you do not have to pay sales tax in 2 different states. Thank you for your email. Congratulations on the purchase of your vehicle. After looking into your account, I see that you are "account type public buyer", because you purchased the vehicle as this type you would have been charged sales tax for the purchase in ******** and then also sales tax in ******** once you registered the vehicle there. You can possibly avoid paying future sales taxes if your account changes to a licensed business account. On October 31st, Insurance Auto Actions (IAA) was hacked. My account, my information, Auto dealer permit number, Paypal account and identity was compromised along with the information of other buyers. On my case, the hacker, ***************************** from **************, accessed my account, and was able to purchase and pick up 2 vehicles and titles from Insurance Auto Auctions in ************** between 5:00 in the morning and 7:00 in the morning. All my information was compromised, he was able to tell dispatchers to have the vehicles and titles ready within a 2 hour window. IAA did not call, text or emailed me any questions in regards as to who ********************************* was or to confirm why I was purchasing from ************** at 5:00 in the morning when I reside in *****. If you ask me, in my humble opinion, this was an inside job. I have been buying vehicles from auctions for over 10 years, it is impossible to buy, pay and pick up a vehicle within a 2 hour window. Let alone access all type of information on my account without even asking to confirm the purchases. I have emailed IAA and was told by ****************************************** to "file a theft report with local police" when the breach of security happened in ************** and on IAA website. It is their responsibility to chase criminal that can access so easily their clients account. I have tried to talk on the phone with IAA but I have been put on holds of over 40 min at a time and then hanged up on. IAA is expecting me to chase a hacker and report a vehicle that I never bought as stolen. My account was inactivated by ******** who is demanding I pay for those units, not allowing me to communicate via chat with a representative. Their security failed, my account along many others was hacked, they know this as in one of the emails ******** writes "we were notified that unauthorized vehicles were purchased on your account" yet she is refusing to reverse the payment to paypal, and is asking me to report the vehicles as stolen. I have spoken to our buyer payments department, and they stated that they received the documents they requested from you yesterday 11/17/22, those have been submitted to the director of that department therefore we should see movement in this reversal within the next couple of days.
