      Good morning,

Unfortunately, CNO Financial Group does not have the authority to execute a lien release on behalf of Conseco Finance/Green Tree Financial. ************************************ (formerly Green Tree Financial Corporation) entered into bankruptcy in December 2002 and was no longer part of our company subsequent to the bankruptcy. Ditech Financial, LLC later acquired the assets of the former Green Tree Financial, and likely acquired rights to any lien on the property referenced in this BBB inquiry.
Ditech Financial, LLC itself later filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the **** Bankruptcy Court, S.D.N.Y. On September 7, 2021, the Bankruptcy Court entered an Order by which all such liens were abandoned by the Debtor, and provided that a copy of the Order may be presented as evidence of the release of any lien held by the Debtor. The customer may obtain a copy of this Order at the following internet address under Lien Release Inquiries:

I am getting phone calls from people selling ********************** This has been going on for at least a year, every day, M - F. I get about a dozen calls a day and I block every one of them. I have asked then told them to remove my name from their list but they keep calling. This has really disrupted my life missing calls from doctor offices. Please make them stop.

Conseco Finance Finance servicing has a lien on our home in ********. We bought the house at an auction from the State of ********. Nobody informed us they still had a lien on the home title linked with the previous owners mortgage contracted in 2000, we found that out running a title search. We contacted a lawyer who was not willing to do the job and advised us to contact the company ourself to ask for lien release since we are not responsible for the mortgage of previous owner. However, this company is very difficult to track and after many calls to different phone number we have not made any progress to reach the company (or at least someone willing to help me) to receive the lien release. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

Conseco Finance ********************* has a lien on my mobile home title at the West Virginia DMV. I have paid off this home loan years ago. Nobody informed me they still had a lien on my mobile home title. This company is very difficult to get a hold of. My landlord is requesting to get a copy of my mobile home title, but the West Virginia DMV will not release it to me until I get a notarized lien release from this company. I received confirmation from the West Virginia DMV that this company has this lien.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      Regards,

Conseco ********************** or *** has an active lien with the West Virginia DMV on my property.  *********** Ditech or Green **** no longer exist.  ************ bought them out.  The West Virginia DMV will not release my Mobile Home Title until this company releases the lien. I have paid off the loan years ago from Green****.  Somebody from this organization has this record and they need to release the lien.  Nobody informed me about the lien.  I will pursue a lawsuit if this company does not release the lien. I have attached a copy of the lien on my property that the West Virginia DMV provided me and it clearly states that this company has a lien on my property which needs to be removed immediately.

The West Virginia DMV accepted the letter that *** sent me to release my mobile home title.  I still want a complaint on the company that they listed.  I paid off the loan over 8 or 9 years ago and should have been released at that time and these companies need to be held accountable for this.
