United States vs. Envigo RMS, LLC
On July 15, 2022, the United States entered a Consent Decree with Envigo
RMS, LLC. The Decree settles allegations that Envigo RMS violated the Animal
Welfare Act by failing to provide humane care and treatment for the
beagles at their Cumberland, VA facility. Under terms of the Decree, Envigo RMS
agreed to "refrain from any activity requiring an AWA license” at their
Cumberland facility and to cooperate with the Humane Society as they remove
approximately 4000 remaining beagles. The Decree is for settlement
purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding
of violation of the law. For more details go to
