On January 23, 2024, BBB began investigating the business details of Macystees after receiving a Scam Tracker report alleging the company is a "fake" website. After reviewing the website, BBB noticed that the company had an unusual formatting for their listed address; on their site they list a first and last name in front of their alleged address: Janet Lynette 7451 Corkwood Drive Indianapolis, IN 46227. When reviewing this listing via USPS SmartStreets, the results state that it is an "unknown address," with and without the first and last name included. To further confirm that the address was unable to be located, BBB entered the address into Google Maps; the results previewed an intersection. After further review, there is not an apparent building or residence with the number 7451 along Corkwood Dr. in Indianapolis, IN.
In addition to reviewing the unknown address, BBB also checked the age of the website's domain and found that the website was recently created in October of 2023, making the website around 3 months old.
In the midst of BBB's findings, BBB sent notice to Macystees, via their support email, requesting that the business explain why they are advertising an unknown address and to validate the legitimacy of their business by providing a verifiable location. As of January 30th, the company has failed to respond to BBB requests.
Therefore, at this time, BBB cannot determine the true location of this company, nor supply sufficient information on its business practices. Due to the unknown address listed on their website, and its domain's age, BBB advises that consumers exercise caution prior to doing business with Macystees.
