Complaint - I live in a bottom corner unit next to the office/mailroom and pool. Tons of foot traffic. We found out after moving in that we cant put privacy film on my windows.I SUFFER EVERYDAY from serious mental health disorders. One being - PTSD - sexual assaults. Two being - Social Phobia. Three being - OCD 2 episodes of -PSYCHOSIS with severe PARANOIA.Have any of you ever lived in a type of terrifying reality where you feared for your life?Have you ever been so convinced in your brain that neighbors were actually ****** you and your children, to a point youre crying/begging police officers for help? Im going to guess - NO. Its very similar to schizophrenia.I NEED window film to feel safe. I NEED to get a certain type of light refraction. It helps me alleviate some sensory symptoms of ************** Also at times, severe migraines.I was told NOPE.First was said they could accommodate my request IF I had a psychiatrist fill out the accommodation form. I had the form back ASAP. ******* said she had to have it looked at by a lawyer. What about a psychiatrist? NO.******* denied it. We asked if there was anyone else we could talk to thats higher. She said NO, ONLY her.How can a mental health accommodation be denied?? Is that legal?******* said, its for the aesthetics of our buildings. She said, put up curtains. As I stated - I NEED window film to feel safe. I NEED to get a certain type of light refraction.- NO UNDERSTANDING ABOUT MENTAL ILLNESSES AND THE SERIOUSNESS OF IT OR THINGS THAT COULD HELP SOMEONE FEEL OK/SAFE IN THEIR RENTED HOME.Im someone who SUFFERS every day.All I can do is obsess over my surroundings and observe ************** behaviors. If these things happened to any of you, then you would hear me, understand and be accommodating to people with mental disorders. I wonder if they would deny someone in a wheelchair a rampAre the aesthetics of your buildings that important, to deny someone a better quality of life?
