    I received a bill in the mail. They were supposed to bill insurance but didn't bother. I got a phone call from a representative and gave her my insurance information again. Insurance covered the bill, yet I still keep receiving bills from this place in the mail. Also, St. Francis is billing me for the exact same services.
    I have no idea who Topeka Pathology is, or why I have a bill with them but they continue to give me the run around.
    The representative I talked to on the phone said she would mail additional information to me. I never received that either.

    April 8, 2025, patient called in regarding a bill that she received from Topeka Pathology Group for labs that were done at St. Francis Hospital.  Customer service rep spoke with her to send out a detailed statement and also received updated insurance information for filing. 

    April 9, 2025, Claim filed to insurance.

    A courtesy statement was generated indicating the insurance has been billed but no response.

    Received this BBB complain today 6/10/2025.

    I have asked the billing office to adjust this bill to a zero balance as a professional courtesy and send a zero-balance statement to the patient as well.   To provide additional explanation that it is possible for a patient to receive a bill for the same types of charges as the hospital as the hospital provides the technical processing why the pathologist performs the professional on the same codes.  Incase this would happen in the future, this is a common practice.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

    I would like to note the customer service person I spoke with in April never sent me anything as she stated she would. 

    Additionally, this is NOT common practice and only happens with Topeka pathology. I do not know who Topeka Pathology is, nor did I authorize them to do any work for me. I'm not sure who sent labs to them as my labs were processed at the hospital lab. 

    It makes no sense to receive a bill when insurance is pending. That is called double dipping and is a very shady business practice for Topeka Pathology.

    Dr visit for my husband checking for cancer.He was told medicare would pay for the procedure and they send the results to Kansas city to be gone over to double check the results. This Kansas City pathology report part of the bill is 4200.00. They have badgered my insurance Blue cross and me with these bills and every time I call they say to forget about the bill and next month the bill comes again.They should have gottten it authorized. Blue cross will not pay for double checking. The pathology dept checked it and sent it to their conspirator in Kansas City. I believe they are working this together and scamming Medicare. i see they changed their name to Topeka Pathology Group LLC. They have a bad reviews and rating

    I have reached out to the submitter for additional information regarding her husbands account with Topeka Pathology Group LLC.  We need additional information to effectively resolve this account.  Patients Name, Date of Birth, Date of Service.  Sent email to the email address that was listed in the letter (*********************) will also attempt to place a call to submitter if no response from email.  Explained in email that Topeka Pathology Group has recently went through a billing vendor change due to billing issues that we are actively working on resolving from the previous billing company. Email sent today (1/21/2025)

    Receieve a random bill from this group claiming to be final notice. We haven't used them and when I called I got passed off to a 800 number.

    Topeka Pathology Group has reached out to the patient directly for some additional information needed in order to identify the account in question.  We are in need of the patients name and date of service or an account number that is listed on the bill that was received in order for the billing company to identify.  Once this information is received the balance of $6.68 will be taken down to zero and a zero-balance statement will be provided.  The Practice Managers contact information was also provided if there any additional issues to be contacted directly for resolution.
