The guys that helped us move were nice and did a good job, however they did take longer than expected and that ran up the price some. I also did not even think about tipping so that was an extra cost I just didn't think about at the time also but I was happy to tip.

I did however find out a little over a week later that my large tv had been damaged. I was delayed in using the TV because it took awhile for my internet to get turned on and we stream everything at my house. They did give me some money back for the damaged tv and came up from the 0.60 cents they normally give to 1 dollar per pound, still not covering much on my 1000 dollar tv. They also refunded the packaging materials used on the TV so I am getting somewhere around 160 dollars back in total which is around what I tipped. I must of glossed over it but they do offer additional coverage you can pay for that I think would of been up to 3 dollars a pound. That would of put me up to 350 or so to replace the tv, still not even half.

In short when using movers plan on having extra money if the job runs long and to tip the movers. And if you have a large expensive item I guess pay for extra insurance because their basic insurance requirement won't really help you at all.

Update in response to the companies reply: I think a policy that does more than make sure your company doesn't pay out next to nothing for anything would be a good start.

For example, if i had your company move my move something like my bass guitar and that managed to be damaged and I did happen to pay for the extra insurance and got 3 dollars per pound and the average bass weighing in at about 10 pounds I would of got a whole 30 dollars back on my bass that cost more than 1000 dollars. As I'm sure anyone would agree that is a very poor compensation that really means nothing and only really helps you not pay the customer anything.
