We used them when moving to FL from CA. A family owned business, & what a great idea for a business we thought! I sent them a message & talked to Martha (wife/co-owner) several times prior to Cutchen being picked up, everything seemed fine. They are supposed to give you updates along the way. I got maybe two..but only after I texted several times & ended up having to call the owners wife (that I've talked to). Norman (the husband/co-owner) was supposed to drive him the whole way. So, when the day before cutchen was due to arrive, we were surprised when we got a call from some other guy telling us he just picked up the dog in Atlanta..&would have him here the next morning. When he arrived, we had envisioned a homecoming of him running up to us and happy to be home! What we got was a dog who was barely coherent, hardly able to walk up to the house. The guy who dropped him off with is only had him for a little over a day, but said the owner handed him over w/no food... instructing him to 'just get the dog there'.
He was not in great shape so called the vet & had him in 40 minutes later. He had burns on all 4 legs and paws 'consistent w/laying in his own urine for extended periods' , along with two pretty good lacerations (paw and heel), likely getting his paw caught in the wire. He was also in pain &vet seems to think it's likely due to crate being too small for him. Severely dehydrated (needed 400 cc of IV at the vet) & smelled like urine. He's now on 10 days of 4 pills a day/antibiotics. We could not believe this actually happened, how could this 'business' treat animals this way? The burns and lacerations and laying in his own urine is severe neglect.
Oh, his dog license tag, microchip number tag, and our contact number tag were all missing from his collar. And, his Kong bone we sent with him as a comfort from home. All gone.
I have pictures that are honestly disturbing even to this day to look at. DO NOT USE PET TAXI USA!
