    ****** ****** & ******* ****** ***** issues with Hometown HVAC LLC,
P****** B*******, owner: 2/13/25 our heat went out. *** on 2/14/25 got it working but said that our unit was a 2006 and recommended it be replaced. ***’s quote for a new furnace was $4,121.38. He required half the money up front in order to purchase the equipment. 2/22/25, he had several of his techs replace our furnace. *** came by later that afternoon to replace the thermostat and collect his second check for $2,060.69. The next evening the furnace was not working correctly. It was not coming up to the set temp consistently, or staying at the set temp consistently. *** came by several times that week for several hours trying to get it working. He ended up replacing the thermostat twice. By 2/28/25, when the furnace still wasn’t working properly, he had his buddy (****) come out who works at ********* *********** (local HVAC co) to install a wrap around and second filter. *** charged us another $440 for the additional materials. 3/5/25, the furnace issues resumed. At that point we decided to get a second opinion. We had ********** (local HVAC co) come out, 3/6/25. The tech immediately stated the furnace was far too big for the square footage of our house nor was it calibrated correctly. ********** stated after much testing, that the oversizing of the unit would preclude it from every working correctly long term. Their only recommendation was to replace the unit with a correctly sized unit for our home. We decided to get additional opinions to ensure ********** wasn’t just trying to “sell” us on a new unit and they confirmed the same. During this time, we also found and reviewed our original inspection report from when we bought our home. We found out that our furnace was actually a 2017. Not a 2006 like *** shared with ******. We emailed and texted *** on 3/19/25 to make him aware of the whole situation and request a refund. We have yet to hear back from ***.
