They disqualified my membership after I deposited over $500. They required a Kentucky drivers license! Did not accept my passport, nor my current valid Alaska driver's license, nor social security proof of income with my name and ss# letter from the us government! It took them over 4 months to send me my deposit because check was lost and then they required a notarized response on a document that had no place for a notary stamp. I never saw such disorganization and a horribly inefficient administration.

Mr. K**** we regret any inconvenience you have experienced. Your membership was closed because you did not provide adequate documentation to verify your residency at the Kentucky address listed on your membership application. The address you provided us with did not match the Alaska ID you provided, and no additional documentation was ever provided to support the Kentucky address. The Official Check for your account balance was sent to the address listed on your application. You contacted us and claimed that you never received the check, so we required you to sign and notarize an Official Check Stop Payment form, which is our procedure. You the advised us that you needed a new check sent to an Alaska address instead. Our records show this second Official Check has been negotiated by you in Alaska, so we are happy that your funds have been returned.

I am filing this review to warn others about L&N Federal Credit Union’s deceptive mortgage practices and failure to provide legally required documentation.
I submitted a formal demand letter via Certified Mail, requesting verification of my mortgage ownership, including the original promissory note, full chain of title, tax compliance documents, and proof of securitization status. L&N failed to provide these legally required documents within the 30-day deadline, raising serious concerns about their legal standing to enforce my mortgage.
Additionally, L&N initiated/continued foreclosure proceedings without proving their right to collect the debt—a violation of consumer protection laws, including:
The Truth in Lending Act (TILA)
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
      The Securities Act of 1933
Financial Accounting Standards (FAS 125 & FAS 140)
A formal complaint has been filed with the CFPB to investigate L&N for mortgage fraud and deceptive lending practices. I strongly urge other homeowners to demand proof of ownership before making payments to this institution.
If L&N cannot prove they own my loan, they have NO legal right to foreclose or collect payments.
?? Consumers beware! Do your research and hold lenders accountable!

While we recognize your frustrations regarding your request for copies of your mortgage documentation, please understand that your mortgage is currently in a legal status pending foreclosure proceedings. Because of this, only the law firm that we have hired to initiate foreclosure proceedings can respond to your requests. We have advised this law firm of your request and they sent you a letter on February 19, 2025 addressing your concerns. Please know that you will also receive copies of the requested documents at the foreclosure hearing. As our law firm has advised you, L&N acted lawfully with regard to your requests and no federal or state laws were violated.
