SCAM ALERT - MISUSE of COMPANY NAME
The BBB Srving Greater KY and South Central Indiana has been notified of a scam involving
the sealing of driveways by persons who are going door to door in the
Louisville metro area and possibly surrounding Kentucky and Indiana counties, falsely
claiming to be employees of The Asphalt Driveways Company. They are absolutely NOT employees of this company which does not go door to door to solicit business,
provides all its employees with identification and has vehicles that are clearly
marked with the company name. The Asphalt Driveway Company is in no way
associated with this scam. It has been reported that the operators of this scam
are driving a late model silver pickup, make unknown. They may ask to see the
previous contract for sealing or paving a driveway. As with other scams of this
nature the homeowner is quoted a price that is very low however upon completion
the workers demand as much as 5 times the amount quoted. If you are approached
by theses scammers do not give them any money or information. Notify your local
police department or sheriff’s office that they are in your neighborhood If you can obtain a license number, do so but
under no circumstances should you put yourself at risk.
