- Additional Info:The BBB has received information regarding a check scam from a company doing business as Progress Personnel Services, Inc. The company sends an offer to consumers for a mystery shopping opportunity and they include a check that appears to be from Monessen Hearth Systems. The check is fraudulent and Monessen Hearth Systems is not involved. Consumers should not attempt to cash or deposit the check because it is counterfeit and it would be returned from the bank leaving the consumer responsible for repayment of the check. Representatives from the Monessen Hearth Systems are aware of the scam and are investigating to find the source of the fraudulent checks.
