      I am a Captain at the **************** ************ in **********, **. One of my responsibilities is the handling of all the ordering of uniform items. On May 26th, 2022, an order was placed for 3 sets of patrolman badges (wallet and shirt) as well as a set of Sergeant *********************** The first time the company made the badges, they messed up the order and they needed to be sent back. After sending the incorrect badges back to the company they proceeded to play the blame game of who was responsible for the mistake with Atlantic Tactical who is the vendor that placed the order. It has been almost a year now that I am still without my order. I received 3 patrolman shirt badges and that's it. The company refuses to communicate and provide updates. I could go on and on with all the attempts that were made to rectify this, however, that doesn't change any of the facts of this case. Blackinton's customer service is unprofessional and the product lacks quality. I ultimately want this to reflect as a negative **** on this company's standing with the BBB, so other consumers are warned of their terrible products and service.

      Good ************************************ week I received an email from the Better Business Bureau regarding your experience with a recent purchase order. I have had an opportunity do some further research. I wanted to thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. When we fail one of our customers it is always disappointing, but it also gives us the opportunity to make things right if we can. Let me first start with a heartfelt apology. We have been in business for over one hundred and seventy years and our service is equally as important as our quality.

      The only orders that we received from Atlantic Tactical in 2022 were  for the title of Patrolman. The replacement purchase orders that were submitted in January of 2023 were only for the titles of Sergeant and Corporal.

      Normally, it takes two months to manufacture badges. This order took four and we regret that we could not rectify the issue in a timely manner.  This order was plagued by continuous problems that resulted in remakes that were exacerbated by supply chain and material shortage issues.

      We will only ship out a badge that meets our strict quality standards. Your badges are B736-H badges. These are two-tone badges and are considered high-end badges. The selection of hard enamel adds an additional 17-step process which also impacts the timeline for delivery. These are not excuses.

      Simply,  I want to explain to you why custom-made badges take a considerable time to make. We did communicate with Atlantic Tactical throughout February and March. We also applied a twenty-five percent discount to the order in January to offset the cost of the replacement order. We hope that now that you have received the badges you requested, you will be satisfied with the craftsmanship and quality.

      I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that I have received the badges in reference to complaint #********. I respectfully disgree with their excuses as no one from that company had the common courtesy of contacting me an updating me to what was going on.  The excuse of placing it back on Atlantic Tactical just further proves my complaint of them failing to take responsibiliity and passing the buck.  The business should be reaching out directly to the customer when there is an issue.  Not only did this never happen, but I never had any calls returned from the messages that were left. And the timeline she mentioned in the email is completely inaccurrate, but I have the product, so I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved.
