Apparently ZipCar has outsourced to ************ where the customer service is atrocious! I was simply attempting to reactivate my account and was told by the representative that I would need to start a new application. This was incorrect info which created a conflict because I already had an account. For two weeks I have been getting the run-around and I feel they are intentionally being uncooperative. The last time I called in it sounded like they were having a party and when I mentioned it the representative just hung up on me. Upon calling back the same 2 reps always answered and put me on hold never to return. Employees in ************ are NOT going to be invested in the company or the customers, the representive even mentioned that she doesn't even know too much about ZipCar because they do not have them in ************. PLEASE DO NOT OUTSOURCE YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE TO COUNTRIES WHERE THE REPRESENTATIVES HAVE NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR UNPROFESSIONALISM.

This company is horrible . I called due to an over charge from 1.65 to ***** and they are refusing to refund my money. I called multiple times and was hung up on and told verbatim when asked to speak to a supervisor that she wouldnt connect me and then proceeded to hang up. I could hear others in their call center laughing very unprofessional and unethical. I am doing this post because of the rude unprofessional attitude and response. So now that they refuse to refund my money even though I didnt use or pick up a car. I intend to hire an attorney just for they principal.

$214 for less than 6 hours. Booked 10:30 -2:30 for what was supposed to be $81. I was running behind and went to extend in the app (2 hours) for additional $39. After updating card information I believed extension was successful. 3:03 I checked and saw time still showed 2:30 pm. At this point the app would not let me extend due to a 30 minute block on 3:00 hour. I drove to return the car which took 25 minutes and stopped to fill up on gas with card. Due to reservation being expired, the vehicle would not start (after receiving gas) and I needed to call support who booked me for 4-4:30. I was charged $8.34 just to unlock the vehicle and drop off to location less than two minutes away and charged $100 late fee.I believed this to be a convenient option, but 2nd time using app will be the last.

Zipcar is seriously one of the worst companies! Specifically in the Baltimore area, the cars ALWAYS stink of smoke, there are always maintenance issues (no windshield wiper fluid, low tire pressure, check engine light on, etc) but if you are two minutes late bringing the car back, they want to charge you $50. They can go F-themselves. Zipcar needs to be shut down. They need to go after the people who keep smoking in the cars and leave people who actually take care of the vehicle while it's in their care, alone.

I was charged a $115 late fee for a car I never took out. Zipcar has not helped me and given me the runaround for months. I can't even get them to remove my credit card info from my account so they can't scam me again. Do yourself a favor and use a rental car company -- Zipcar is not cheaper in the end, they will take your money and there's nothing you can do about it,

Use a rental company if you can. This satellite car rental is the worst and inconvenient. The customer service is horrible. Do not rent from them.

This has been the worst experience ever! I have used zip several times. It hasnt been great. One of the times I rented for two days. When I picked up the vehicle it smelled of weed so bad, it made me sick to my stomach. Luckily wasnt in vehicle for too long durations. It reeked the whole two days I had it!!Now this last time, I am at a loss for words. I rented for a three days. My second day, unfortunately was in an accident. I was not at fault nor was I cited. I was rear ended. Luckily I wasnt seriously hurt and the car was still drivable. I was very shaken up though and in a lot of pain. I called them like I was supposed to and let them know. Per policy they suspend your account upon investigation. I understand this but they abandoned me and left me stranded during this trip duration. I needed to extend a couple days because there was no way for me to get the car back to them. I am in severe pain and am shaken up from getting hit. They would not extend because they suspended the account. The car is disabled and Im 4.5 hours away in another city stranded. They are charging me late fees and then a tow fee. I have no idea what Im going to do. I understand suspending account but to show no compassion and abandon me on this trip and charge me all these fees . I should not be punished for someone rear ending me. I was not even cited or anything !! This is the worse company ever . Oh and I pay for premium membership with their extra insurance coverage and for what to be stranded left abandoned and punished for something that wasnt my fault.

Avoid ZipCar in ***. Today, on 2.18.24, I had a reservation for a vehicle at 56th & ******* that shouldve started at 10:30a. The parking lot was congested with only one working elevator, causing an hour-long wait. After contacting ZipCar, they redirected me to a location 20 minutes away. The second vehicle had no issues initially, but it was an electric car with only half a charge. Parked in an outdoor garage, the cold likely damaged the battery. Unaware of this, I drove to pick up my family, and the car abruptly shut down on the highway 10 minutes later.Upon calling customer service, I encountered a rude agent who interrupted me, issued impractical instructions (like taking photos while on a busy highway), and argued over my location despite the car having GPS. She abruptly hung up, citing high call volumes. While I understand that vehicle malfunctions happen, ZipCar's customer service exacerbates the inconvenience. Today, on my son's first birthday, our reserved plans were disrupted, making it a disappointing day overall. All that excitement/energy/money was spoiled because of ZipCar.

I have been a customer for over 10 years. My account was deactivated one day, As I hadn't been using it much since I moved to a different state.I had to reactivate my account. It keeps failing. They only give me a list of reasons why it could fail. They charge you twenty five dollars each time to run the application. This is illegal In my opinion, As they do not tell you explicitly why it is failing but only give you a general list.So theoretically, you could fix one thing, but still have multiple things, causing it to fail.I used to love this ride share. I'm so upset over this whole thing. I will likely never use it again and will only Talk about my bad experiences with it now. Which is a shame because for a while I did have a great time using it.

Zipcar needs to do better with their policy when a regular car parks in the Zipcar parking lot. I rented a car on saturday 1/27 at 8pm for 24hrs next day I go to return the vehicle mind you Im 20 mins early, theres a non Zipcar vehicle parked in the spot so I go around looking for parking now where I live its really hard to find parking especially since they recently made bus lanes around the area & plus alternate side parking. I call Zipcar the 1st agent was no help pretty much hangs up and doesnt even extent the trip being that I have to look for parking. I call 311 to try to tow the vehicle since its non emergency they said it might take a while. I literally spent an hr looking for parking now hear this, a few months back I was abt 10 mins late no one was using the vehicle after & that was like my first time ever being late (mind you I called Zipcar like 3 times that day because the car was giving me issues locking) so they charge me a 70$ fee I try to fight ********** was nothing they could do but when its convenient for you guys you want me to spend ********* finding parking. I had something to do after I dropped the vehicle off which I was late to & what I get agents with attitudes, having to call tow trucks, driving around for literally an hr to find parking. AND THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME ITS HAPPEN. I could never get to speak with a supervisor or anyone higher up. The last time they told me to email the supervisor in which they took days to respond. Zipcar has gotten bad, dont even bother just go to a rental place.
