    I had enrolled in the Applied Machine learning course. There are a total of 24 weeks of classes. But after just 8 weeks of classes I had a family emergency and was out of country for nearly a month to take care of family matters. I missed classes and fell back with a huge backlog of content to cover and makeup. I brought this up with Emeritus and asked if they could move me to another Cohort which they refused stating it would have been possible only within first 30 days. Now playing catchup and juggling work and family was proving to be impossible. finally I couldn't complete the course within deadline. I was helpless and it lapsed. They didn't budge one bit and their extensions were so little that it was meaningless. finally after many email communications they gave me an extension of just 34 days to finish nearly 75% of the content! Unless I drop everything and take off work for nearly a month and lock myself in a room I will not be able to complete such an advanced course.I have taken courses with several other online training platforms and they have all been terrifically flexible to accomodate the needs of working professionals. Emeritus and its infelxibility is such a superlative exception!Sorry Emeritus, you will be losing a life long learner and paying customer!
