      Terrible customer service! Unsafe site with no screening of tutors. Tutors who creepily message you and told Preply and they do nothing about it and continue to let happen!!! This site needs close down.

      A female tutor falsely accused me of misconduct. Preply insist that have committed misdeeds on the platform. Won't let tutors that I have suncritions with vouch for me. What a horrible company and business model. Only partial refund for uncompleted lessons.Spent a little over 3000$ in total.

      I want to share my account of how ********************** withheld my money and the ways Im holding them accountable. If youve had your money withheld by Preply, please go to the end of this summary for actions you can take. ****** 1: They Keep Your Money When you transfer money to your Preply account, those funds effectively become Preplys. Even though their website says Free transfer or refund, this is deceptive. They have conditions that are hidden deep in their website.I asked for refunds numerous times. I had a balance of over $200. I asked for a refund, and their response was, No, we cant return your balance. You didnt contact us within 28 days. If you do not cancel your ******s before 28 days, they will not return your money. So, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A SUBSCRIPTION. Subscriptions can run past 28 days and this will increase the risk of you not getting your money back if you decide to cancel later. ****** 2: Its Trial, No TribulationBeware the Free Trial ****** With no refund, Preply told me my only option was to apply the funds for future ******s. I paid for an introductory ****** but the tutor effectively disappeared afterward. I requested a refund and Preply said,"Sure, we can issue a refund...we can also offer you: Transfer of hours balance to another tutor;Free Trial ****** with another tutor regardless of the price difference (we cover the difference for the trial ****** only)"After exchanges with 7 reps, I learned the offer a free trial ****** was false. HOW TO HOLD PREPLY ACCOUNTABLE Report your experience to your Attorney General: *********************************** investigate deceptive business practices and they document it. Its helpful to submit documentation with your complaint. You often have to include a business address.       I find it incredibly disappointing that Preply removed me from their platform after dedicating myself to teaching over 5900 English ******s. My removal was solely due to my request for payment from customer service for a ****** where a student was absent.In summary, it's absurd that a teacher can be removed from Preply for simply requesting payment for a ****** where a student was absent, especially without prior warning. This experience leads me to believe that my removal may have been motivated by the customer service agent's desire to avoid a negative rating, or perhaps the decision-maker was misinformed. Regardless, it's clear that despite my significant contribution to the platform, Preply prioritizes arbitrary policies over the well-being of its teachers.I have ample evidence to support my claims, but unfortunately, there's no option to present it. I want to caution other teachers not to request payment for absent students, as it may result in removal without warning. While I understand the need to enforce policies, the lack of transparency and consideration in this instance is disheartening. I've witnessed removals for teachers engaging in misconduct outside the platform, which is understandable, but being penalized for requesting payment owed to me is simply unjustifiable.So I believed this was a discrimination act where I was removed for no reason, matter of fact if asking to customer service to release the payment from a student that was absent is a preply violation policy the I believe they should let teachers know that if they ask for a payment they will be remove give a warning for example

      23 weeks ago, I reached out to Preply seeking assistance. Despite my initial excitement for Italian classes, my experience quickly turned sour. Despite my attempts, scheduling with my chosen **************************, proved impossible due to his consistently full calendar. Despite this, I was inexplicably charged for 15 hours of lessons that never took place beyond the initial free session. Feeling deceived and frustrated, I reached out for resolution, only to be met with further disappointment in Preply's handling of the situation. This experience has left me wary, especially since communication has been limited to impersonal chatbots rather than meaningful human interaction. Before considering booking a new teacher for my son in *****, I demand a refund for the Italian classes I never received. This lack of accountability is unacceptable, and I urge Preply to rectify this situation promptly.

      I'm a tutor on Preply, and working for them has been an absolute nightmare. My account was suspended without notice, and I can't access my funds at all. As far as I can tell, I've not done anything to warrant being suspended. Now my students are disappointed and confused because I can't teach them even though they've paid for lessons.

      Preply is great in theory, terrible in practice. I signed up for a session, I messaged the tutor approximately 15 minutes before the session to confirm she was available. When I messaged her she asked that I reschedule because she had the flu, people get sick that is definitely not the issue. The issue is that Preply charged me and stated that the tutor and I would have to coordinate offline...The purpose of the service is to ensure a secure method for language tutors, why would a customer be told to go outside of the process to be made whole? Preply does not care about the tutors, clients, reviews on BBB or complaints filed with the **** Their BBB rating is an F, they have almost 60 complaints and they continue to rack up bad reviews. As long as they are allowed to continue doing business without fear of repercussion any client or potential client should beware. DO NOT USE PREPLY read the reviews on BBB, look at the discussions on Reddit and please beware. In retrospect I should have looked at the BBB reviews prior to signing up. ****** learned.

      Preply arbitrarily suspended my first account without any form of communication and left me and my Preply tutor distressed for days due to my scheduled lessons with my Preply tutors. I was not even informed of such suspension until later I reached out to Preply Instagram account. Unjustified suspension that violated my Constitutional right of due process/fair notice and discrimination. Thereafter, I had to create another Preply account to contact my tutor and contact Preply customer service. I attempted at least 5 times with 5 different customer service reps by writing lengthy and detailed messages with either no response (but "read") or just passing on the buck constantly. My tutor even contacted them on my behalf but was also denied any helpful info. As a last straw, I left a public comment on Preply instagram account, demanding for a response. Preply instagram responded quickly and reached out to customer service on my behalf. Meanwhile, I added another $1130 into my new Preply account so I could continue taking classes with my Preply tutor. The day after the account was created, this new account was suspended again!! Until now, a week after suspension, I was still not refunded. Nor have I received any form of communication from Preply customer service team unlike what ********************** Instagram alleged that the customer team emailed me. Never received anything! Fraud! Lies! Preply to this day has not justified its reasons for suspending my account. On top of everything else, $1130 was still not refunded!! ABSOLUTELY FRAUD!

      I am an Accounting tutor at Preply since 1 year. All was going great. I hd withdrawn my last earnings at 17 Dec 2023 and it as done in a minute of seconds. But till then, to 23 Jan ****, I tried to withdraw my earnings for around $804 which I earned through tutoring. My withdrawal is suspended and is been 4-5 days. I tried contacting the support multiple times, they said your earnings are from fraudulent activity and you cannot withdraw your earnings. I told them to recheck with every student and thought it was a system glitched, therefore I continued to provide the lessons and earned more of $30. The support team is not able to justify that what fraudulent activity I have done, my profile is been hidden from new students but still I can access to my profile and give tutoring services to existing students. The problem is now there is a total of $840 USD. And I dont want to provide the lessons booked for today and Sunday. As it will be for another $50. What should I do. Should I proceed with legal case at court because I should be protected by Consumer Rights and I am 110% sure about the money I have earned. All my students will also support me! They are from different countries but they all liked me as their Accounting tutor. Note: I badly need the money as my Grand Dad is in hospital!

      Scam. THE WORST! Don't do it. Teachers are fine, but You can't the company reach them by phone. I cancelled on Nov. 21, was charged for another month on Dec 12. I sent them screenshot of my cancellation on Nov 21. They refused to remove the charges from credit card. I wrote over 10x and tried to escalate. At last I filed a report with my credit card and got the charges taken off.
