    I used to do a very good business on ******************. In august of 2024 all makers were informed that this platform was being discontinued andv transferred to a new platform called Maker Marketplace. It was supposed to work the same way essentially, with customers being able to contact us *********************** for services. the only difference was that the new platform required a membership fee instead of commission. So on September 24, 2024 i paid them my yearly fee of ****** and in exchange for this, i was supposed to have access to all features of the site, including a job board where customers would post jobs and access for customers to contact me as a **********************. Until February of 2025, there was NO WAY for customers to contact *********************** and no job board for postings. Everything was promised to be up and running by september of 2024 and it was not up until February of 2025. so all makers who paid into this startup have already gone about half a year with no services received for their money. I still have not gotten one job from this startup since august of 2024 and i had steady jobs on the old platform. I requested at LEAST a heavy discount for all of the months i paid for and was promised services and received nothing and they refused. so now i am escalating the issue to you.

    To whom it may concern:

    Today I received BBB complaint #******** filed by ****** *********** on 3/12/205. I am writing in response to that complaint. I am disappointed to read Ms. ************ complaint, which is without merit. 

    1. Ms. *********** was not promised a ********* in September 2024.

    First, when Maker Marketplace launched in September 2024, we were clear that there was no ********* for customers to post projects to connect with ***********************. Our predecessor, CustomMade, said this wasn't a feature we needed. As a result, it was not listed as a member benefit in our table of benefits (which is still visible at ***************************************************************************************************************************). It was also made clear in communications to prospective Makers who wanted to join. 

    However, we decided to create a ********* on or around October 2024 in response to Maker feedback. It was clear our customers wanted a *********, so we scrapped our product road map to create it. We forecasted that it would be completed in December 2024. Due to issues with our software developers and the fact that it was a complicated piece of software, it was not launched until in or around February 2025. 

    We were very clear in our weekly communications with the Makers what was happening and why. I have several weeks of newsletters that I am happy to provide as evidence to support this. We pride ourselves on the fact that we listen to customer feedback and that we are responsive to it. 

    2. As a lead generation platform, we cannot guarantee Ms. *********** customers.

    Second, as a lead generation platform, we cannot control the types of projects that customers post to the job board. Instead, we promise exposure around our website. To that end, Ms. *********** has received the benefits of her paid membership. These include, but are not limited to, the following: we feature her on the relevant pages across the site each day, we specifically featured her in our Valentines Day Gift Guide, we dedicated an issue of the Customer Newsletter to her, and we plan to feature her in our Mothers Day Gift Guide. 

    3. Ms. *********** never asked for a discount. Her last email to us in September 2024 asked about upgrading her membership.

    Finally, we have no record of Ms. *********** asking for a discount. She sent us an email on September 6

    , 2024 asking a question about how to upgrade her membership (please see attached). We have received no further communications to our support desk from her after that. In light of this complaint, we will reach out to Ms. *********** to resolve the situation. She is far outside of the refund window, but we can provide her with additional benefits that aren't available on her current membership plan, which is equivalent to a discounted upgraded membership.

    We regret that Ms. *********** isnt generating leads for her quilts on Maker Marketplace.
