We are sorry that the client is not happy with our services. We filed the application for the client in 2022. Once the application is filed SSA will reach out to the client to attest to their application, if this is not done then they will delete it. Unfortunately, that is what happened in this case. We are sorry for this inconvenience.Customer Answer

I enlisted their service in April of 2022. They told me fees would be 25% or $6000.00 whichever is less. They stated they would submit application to SS and be in contact with them and notify me of any requests that SS requests. I sent all the medical records CD requested. I waited and waited, my fiancee would stay in contact with CD regularly. CD stated on several occasions that they were not able to get through to SS on the phone for updates, but they would keep trying. Still waiting and now just about a year since filing. I decided to go to Social Security because whenever I would check the status of my case on the SS portal, the portal shows at what stage your application is at from 0% to 100%. Mine was just sitting at about 20 something % forever. So I went to SS and lo and behold, they stated that they had requested information from CD and that is why my file was just sitting and not progressing. From that day forward, which was around August, I and my fiancee, went to SS on a regular basis to check on status and supply any documentation and questions they had. At that point, now that I think of it, I should have terminated CD services, because literally the only role they had was submitting my application to SS. Once my file started moving, file was sent to disability determination on an expedited review due to my having no income and had utility bills past due and needing food and rent paid. In 9/23 DD completed their review within approximately 2 weeks. And finally 2 months later my Social Security Disability benefits were approved. SS hurried up and paid the attorney their $6000 and now CD is asking for another $852 because the case took longer. Does CD regularly practice this method of delay to ensure they get paid more than the $6k? I will be happy to pay CD at most $1000.00 and would like a refund of $5000.00 and the $852.00 voided. I did try to talk to CD regarding this issue, and they stated that I would have to contact SSCustomer Answer

As i previously stated and stand firm on it. I waited over a year and my case was not moving anywhere at the social security office until I went in person to SSA and they informed me that they had requested further information from Citizens Disability and they had not responded and that is what was keeping my file from moving. SSA had requested this information some time ago. Yes, you submitted medical records to SSA that I PROVIDED TO YOU. I PROVIDED MEDICAL RECORDS TO THE DISABILITY EXAMINER. I PROVIDED DOCUMENTATION REQUESTED BY SSA FROM YOU, I PROVIDED TO THEM DIRECTLY, IN PERSON. SSA records and Disability ********************** will show this in their records. And then and only then, did my file begin to move and approved a few months later. You simply submitted the application but did not make an effort to ensure that my file was moving along. You did not respond to SSA requests for further information. I suffered mental anguish, disconnection notices, rationed food because of your inability to handle my case properly. $500 is sufficient for your processing paperwork, but I will agree to $1000, which is more than enough. My fiancee was the one calling you always asking for updates and you had none and never did you call us to give updates. So no, $6000 is not deserved by CD. If we have to go to arbitration, we can do that.

We have been calling them since June 2023 to remove them as representatives for my uncle, who no longer wants them representing him in his disability claim, and they continue to lie, saying they will remove themselves with Social Security, but they never do. Their customer call centers are out of the country and you cannot reach anyone at their offices in MA. They take advantage of elderly and disabled people. They should be ashamed of themselves. They are scammers.Business Response

The complaint was made against Citizens Disability, and though they did answer my initial complaint, and removed themselves from the disability claim, their response indicates that they will still take a portion of the disability payment when ****** Security eventually approves the the claim.
I think it is important that consumers know that this company will not provide an actual service, and yet will still expect payment. The company waits out the disability claim, knowing that the consumer will have to follow up with ****** Services on their own in order to get their claim approved, and then the company collects payment for which they have not provided any services for. This is simply fraudulent, and I would like my initial claim to somehow represent that though the company did reach out, they did not actually solve the complaint issue.Business Response
