I hired Green Environmental in May 2024 to conduct a lead inspection of my home prior to a renovation. They conducted the inspection and the results showed some lead in certain areas, but note that they did not test the floors. I had an abatement firm come in and address the lead the inspection found. Then, Green Environmental came back to re-inspect, tested the floors this time, and found lead dust on the floors, which meant I had to have the lead abatement crew come back, clean the floors, and then pay for another inspection by Green Environmental. But there was no evidence that whatever lead dust was on the floors was not there before the abatement work was completed. Had they tested the floors initially, and if they had shown positive for lead, I could have had the lead abatement company clean the floors the first time and saved myself the time and cost of having the lead abatement company come back a second time and the inspector come back a third time. Then, after the floors had been cleaned, I had Green Environmental back to re-inspect, and they offered me expedited test results (by COB the next business day) for double the price - $250 instead of $125. I paid the double price, but then the results were not provided in one business day, they were provided on the third business day after the inspection. I asked for a refund for the cost of the expedited service only and they refused. They said the company has a no refunds policy. The whole episode delayed the beginning of my bigger renovation project by a week, which cost me an extra week of time in a rental unit as we moved out of our house for the renovation. Im of course wiling to pay for the services I received - two inspections - but not for services I did not receive. I paid for expedited results, but ** did not deliver. I should receive a partial refund of $125.
