Terrible Experience – Charged $240 for a Completely Incorrect Diagnosis
I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Len The Plumber regarding my A/C unit. I live in a newly built townhome community that’s only three years old and have a Trane A/C unit — which makes it highly unlikely for the compressor to fail this early.
The technician who came out stayed outside the entire time and never even came inside to check the thermostat. After about 30 minutes, he told me the compressor was bad and quoted me $5,100 for a replacement — parts and labor included. Even worse, I was charged $240 for this incorrect diagnostic.
Thankfully, I didn’t move forward with the quote. Out of caution, I contacted another HVAC company who came out two days later. Their technician actually checked the entire system — including the thermostat — and found that the issue was just incorrect settings on the thermostat. It took him 20 minutes to fix, cost me $125, and he even explained how to make sure the settings are correct in the future. Just like that, I had cool air again — no $5,100 compressor needed.
I had to suffer in an 89-degree house for three days because of Len The Plumber’s rushed and careless service. I truly feel like I was almost taken advantage of, and I’m grateful I trusted my gut and got a second opinion.
I do NOT recommend Len The Plumber for any A/C-related issues. Charging $240 for a completely inaccurate and lazy diagnostic is unacceptable. Always get a second opinion — it could save you thousands.Len The Plumber, Inc.

I couldn’t be happier. It was easy to book an appointment, and with an active leak getting someone in quickly was very important. *** ***** arrived earlier than we expected, which was great. He quickly and thoroughly assessed the issue, and provided several options for the repair. The leak was in a tight spot, and it required removal of some HVAC ductwork to access and repair. On the hottest day of the summer, *** and his assistant quickly made the repair and got our water and HVAC service back on line in short order. Not only did they fix the active leak, but they also identified some potential future problem areas and fixed them as well. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I’ve used Len the Plumber, and each time has been wholly satisfactory.Len The Plumber, Inc.

We had a pinhole leak in water pipe that was threatening to take down a large part of our main floor ceiling. Len-the-Plumber responded immediately and scheduled us the very same day for service. **** ***** was the plumbing engineer who showed up and took care of the problem. He was quick, efficient, responsive and educational. He explained why these problems happen and made us feel informed and confident that the leak issue would be resolved. He found and fixed the leak in short order and encouraged us to continue to remedy any mold issues that might be present. He provided a reference for an environmental services company. Very happy with the service !Len The Plumber, Inc.
