    The patient is my grandson, *****, who is 13 years old. I am ******* legal guardian and his grandmother. ***** was seen on 8-4-22 at the University of Maryland Urgent Care, ************************************, phone number ************. His account number with ******************** Care is *******. I received a refund check in the amount of $130.08 in ******* name around the beginning of July, 2023. it took me a few weeks to finally contact someone who could help to get the check voided and sent again in my name. I was instructed to send a letter to: University of MD, Attention Cash/Refunds, ***********************************************************************************************************************. I composed the letter on 7-25-2023 asking that a new check be issued because I could not cash the attached check because it was made payable to a minor. As instructed I attached the check to the letter. I have spoken to their billing office representatives multiple times over the last 2 months. I requested to speak with a supervisor and was told that an email would be sent and someone would call me within 24 business hours. I never received a call or a check. Again today I called the billing office, ************** and was informed that when I called last on 9-14-23 the matter was escalated but the check is still pending and again the matter would be escalated. I believe a significant amount time has passed with numerous calls and still no check. It's not a large refund but I believe we are in titled to our refund. I hop you can help in resolving this matter. Thank you

    We are sorry for the confusion this billing error caused. The original refund of $130.00 sent in the patients name was sent in error. When this was brought to our attention in the billing department, we had the opportunity to conduct further investigation and determined a refund in the amount of $10 was due. The $10 refund which is the correct amount has since been sent to the guardian and the account is settled.
