On May 13, 2025 my sump pump stopped working and I had water all over my basement floor. I contacted Resource Restoration Services for a water extraction, Mitigation and Restoration services for an estimate of the work. The owner told me that after water extraction, my drywall would needed to be cut to avoid mold setting in and that the job could cost me about $7,500. I requested an estimate in writing as per the $7,500 he had told me. The men who came, brought a mini contract for me to sign. The contract was all about payment and one line at the end of the first line said that no down payment would be asked for. I called Mr. ******* to point that out because he had asked for a down payment of $3,500 which I paid via debit card and was processed immediately. Mr. ******* said it was customary to ask for a down payment regardless of that line. After the men extracted the water and placed several fans, I kept asking what would happened next and was told someone would monitor the fans in the next few days. I called the co again and asked for a written estimate with the scope of the job, **st and process to follow. I was told that I would know the cost after my insurance adjuster would come inspect and give me the amount insurance would give me, they would tell me how much Water Restoration Services would charge me. I never understood why and the next day I decided to end the project in the absence of an estimate. I was told that the company would send an invoice for the work done and check for the remainder of the $3,500. The invoice and check that never came. I then got an invoice via email and was told a refund would be sent to my card. After checking the invoice, it was completely wrong and done for the full job. Mr. *******, then decided to give me a full refund and not to discuss the invoice. He said he had sent me a letter to this effect and had already given me the refund via Square and I should check with them. To date, I am still waiting to be refunded.
