I graduated from Fortis (Education Affiliates) in April 2022. In order to take your Exit HESI exam, your entire tuition must be paid in full. In order to receive your Authorization To Test for your nursing license exam, your tuition must be paid in full. I received official approval that I was paid in full. As my balance was paid in full via both a Pell ***** as well as the fifteen payments I personally made of $882.40 (as per the Fortis tuition contract I still have a copy of), I indeed took the Exit HESI exam, received my ATT from Fortis, took the ***** licensing exam, and received my nursing license. This alone is proof my tuition was paid in full. Two years after I graduated the program, I receive a collections letter stating that I owe Education Affiliates/Fortis $230.00. They sent me to collections despite never once sending me any correspondence and despite the fact I paid the $882.40 x 15 payments for 15 months as per the "Retail Installment Contract" I still have the original copy of. They are committing blatant fraud by concocting this amount and trying to collect it from me, knowing my tuition was PAID IN FULL. Additionally, Education Affiliates was recently charged with submitting false claims for Federal Student Aid and owe $13 million in fines. Furthermore, while I was a student, they accepted students with minimal reading comprehension and/or did not speak English. They would collect their student aid ***** money due in full at start of the program, and then flunk them out. My class started with 34 students, after two months 15 students failed out for being unable to read and comprehend the curriculum. Only 4 of us out of the 34 original students graduated from the program. Yet, Education Affiliates/Fortis was paid in full by the federal government via Pell *****s for all 34 students.Education Affiliates is a criminally fraudulent enterprise. I am filing complaints with the ***, the *** commission, and all other entities available.

I have been a dental hygiene student at Fortis College since 12/22/2020. I have a graduation date of 5/28/2023. During my time here, I have dealt with multiple CODA *************** on Dental Accreditation) violations including the violation of standards 2-5, 2-6, 2-7, ****, ****, 3-2, 4-1a and f, 4-2, 4-5, and 5-3; some of which have not been addressed. Competencies (needed to graduate) and evaluation methods are not provided to students in a timely manner or at all. Our class consists of 18 students and 8 of them were held back a semester due to the schools negligence and are being charged an extra $400 to re-enroll. They pick and chose which students they held back - those who receive funding through the VA were allowed to make up clinic hours while others who pay out of pocket have been told they are not allowed to make up clinic hours. There is a lack of communication between students and faulty; and faulty and the program director. During one incidence, the program director informed the students of changes that were being made and when students told staff of these changes they were unaware. There are incidences where students are scheduled to see patients in clinic and there is not a sufficient amount of staff scheduled, therefore patients scheduled for that day are turned away last minute. In the last 6 months we have been through four program directors who have continuously changed program graduation requirements and we are only four months away from graduating, therefore risking us failing out of the program. There is a lack of respect and unprofessionalism from the staff towards both the students and the patients. The current program director is prescribing unnecessary procedures for patients, putting students in a uncomfortable position to either continue with the negligence or risk failing the program. Our class (along with others) have spoken with the program director, the ****, the president, and corporate and our concerns are not being heard.
